Volunteer Opportunities at the Saints in Lakeview

When my future sister-in-law told me about The Saints, I could not wait to sign up to help. I was interested in the volunteer opportunities, because our family has also been involved in the performing arts for many years. This organization helps the non-profit performing arts tightly-knit community. My role as a volunteer for The Saints was working the box office at various performances, and answering the phones. Although the volunteer positions are unpaid, I did receive, on occasion, free or discounted tickets for certain performances, but even better than that, was the opportunity I was given to be a part of the diversified performing arts community. I was also able to volunteer as an usher at the acclaimed Auditorium Theater in Chicago, and even got to watch a performance for free. The old location of The Saints was at 2851 North Halsted Street, which later became the home of Steppenwolf Theater.

The Saints is now located at 2936 North Southport in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, between George and Lincoln Avenue. If volunteering your time is not something that you can do, or if you would like to help in some other way, The Saints always welcomes monetary donations as well. If you decide that you would like to volunteer, you will need to attend one of the new member orientation sessions.
