Volunteering for the FCA Inspired by Tim Tebow and His Family

Tim Tebow and His Love for Not Only Football, but God and People

Viktorya Hale
When you think of ways to volunteer and begin to search for these organizations, it's as if there are so many ways, yet there is just not enough time in the day. If you are like many people and want to try and narrow your volunteering potential to something that you and your family will enjoy, start asking yourself questions. You may want to ask yourself what you all can do together and have fun doing it?

You may see yourself building a house, but what about your teenage football loving kid? He may want to do something a little bit more fun. Your little football guy may look up to Tim Tebow and want to step out and help the little league in your home town.

Your family is Christian and there are many ways that Christians want to reach out and help the community. Tim Tebow is a perfect example of what a Christian athlete should be. He is never backing down on his faith and gives his Savior, Jesus Christ, all of the credit for what he does on the field. What better way to get involved with the sport that you love, while helping those who are less fortunate.

Tim Tebow's mother comments on his birth in the Septemeber 2009 issue of the Shreveport/Bossier Christian Family magazine. She remembers how skinny he was when he was born and how she had to remain on bed rest for the last two months of her pregnancy. Now look at him! He is a miracle child. The Lord uses the Tebow family in the Philippines, where Tim's dad is a missionary for an orphanage there. Tim reflects on the time that he preached to 10,000 people without a microphone.

That is not all though, Tim Tebow looks for the potential in reaching for others to win them into the Kingdom of God, with his career. For those of you who didn't know, Tim Tebow maintains a 3.7 GPA at the University of Florida. Not to mention, he is majoring in Family, Youth and Community Sciences. With his major, it still looks like Tim Tebow will be heading to the NFL next year. It looks like the Lord is putting Tim where He wants him in hopes to reaching football players and fans.

We can wonder where he will draft to this April. Rest assured that where ever he goes, the Lord will be there with him. His team mates will sure to be inspired by this up and rising Christian, thanks to the Lord. There are not too many football players who will wear a scripture on the field, but Tim Tebow does.

There are ways that you and your Christian family can volunteer, being the football lovers that you are. There is an organization called the FCA. This is a Christian organization that reaches out to young athelets.

Thanks for the article. As a former FCA huddle coach and full time staffer, I am sure that FCA is thankful for the plug.

By all accounts Tebow is a class act and more young people should do as he does.
