Volvo XC 70 - Open New Roads and Experience New Feelings!

Volvo XC70 (Cross Country) is one more all wheels drive version of Volvo. The exterior was changed greatly. It became more aggressive and sportive.

From the image you can see the noticeable plastic bumpers, baskets round anti-fog headlights painted in the same color as the basket, the lateral mirrors of back view are lager than were designed for previous versions.

General introduction

Design

Engine

You can choose from a wide range of engines beginning with 2.5 liter turbo engine of 210 rpm and new 3.2 6-cylinder one of 238 rpm. The top version of crossover will be equipped with V8 engine of 315 rpm by Yamaha. The diesel of 185 rpm is also available.

Brakes

For an additional charge to Volvo XC70 there is electronic system preventing skidding (DSTC). If there is a tendency to sliding, brakes instantly affect on one or a few wheels for renewal of control. EBA is also included. This function helps to brake urgently.

Volvo XC70 is equipped with ventilated disc brakes and the back ones are disc.

Performance

New full drive Volvo XC70 is a wonderful combination of comfort and great ability to drive in cross-road areas. The road clearance is equal to 200 mm which helps it to overcome road gleams easily.

First time this model was shown to the public in Frankfurt in 1997. The XC means Cross Country and it truly represents the idea of the design and technical solutions.

There are electronic drivers for glasses and mirrors, separate climate-control and heating of front seats are offered. There is almost everything you need for living, including various «whorehouses», niches, pockets, glass-holders, wall outlets and other great deal. For an additional charge it is possible to get a built-in telephone, and even television set in front panel. But main dignity of XC70 is its luggage rack. It is not only because of its striking sizes, but far more for its work. You can carry not only the spare wheels under the floor panel, but there is also a great number of niches for shallow things. Luggage is fixed thoroughly, for this purpose there are nets for holding loads.

Safety

Traditionally all Volvo cars advantageously differ from competitors in this aspect, and XC 70 is not the exception from these rules. In the list of standard equipment of Cross Country there are traditional frontal and lateral air pillows of safety and ABS with the electronic distributing of brake effort, but also there is anti-skidding system and firm system defending neck and «active elbow-rests». Protective inflatable window shades complement lateral windows. To sum up Volvo XC is reliably protected not only from failures but also from thieves as it is equipped with electronic immobilizer and door locks, which can stop majority of attempts of breaking.
