V-One is premium vodka that costs about the same price as a bottle of Grey Goose. However, it is very smooth as you drink it. I find that I prefer the taste of V1 Vodka to that of comparable brands.
In addition, as Paul explained to me when I met him, V-One is made from spelt, instead of regular wheat. The brand's website describes the ingredients as "luxury wheat" but spelt is often an ingredient in health food. V-One might have the added advantage of being vodka that someone with a wheat allergy can drink, but of course you should check with your doctor to make sure, if you do have any such allergies, as spelt is very similar to common wheat.
I first tried V-One in a bar in Amherst, Massachusetts. I tried to order it again in a local restaurant the next night, but as they didn't stock it I ordered Grey Goose instead. It was hard to enjoy my drink that night, knowing how much better it could be!
On my latest trip to Massachusetts, I had forgotten my plans to buy a bottle and bring it back to Georgia with me, but I walked into the local liquor store, and there was Paul Kozub himself! He reassured me that I would be able to transport it safely in my checked luggage, as he himself has brought many a bottle back from Poland, where it is now distilled.
The best piece of information I came away with from our conversation was how to order a bottle of V-One Vodka online. Last time I had checked the website, they listed all of the bars that currently serve V-One, which are all located in Massachusetts and Connecticut. I was disappointed to see no mail-order option to get myself a bottle in Georgia. However, Paul told me about a wine store called Nejaime's Wine Cellar, who will ship you a 750ml bottle for $24.99 plus shipping. You can find them online at http://www.nejaimeswine.com/.
So, if you're a fan of vodka, next time you're in Connecticut or Massachusetts, try ordering some V-One. Soon it will be available in New Jersey too. Check the V-One website to see which bars and restaurants currently carry V-one Vodka.
