When Senator Obama won in Iowa, I thought that the country finally came to its senses and figured out what is best for it. However, after many debates, primaries, and caucuses I was shaken because I knew the fight is going to go on for a while. I did not think that it will go that long and I am frankly tired of it. I believe that we should unite behind one leader and I believe that to be Senator Barack Obama.
I am not a Hillary hater. In fact, I love the Clintons. Bill Clinton is one of my favorite presidents. He is such an intelligent person and has a great charisma which is something I admire about him. I am not a woman hater either and I would support any woman who would run for president but I would not support Hillary. Throughout the campaign, I found her to be an unbelievable liar and not so much different from what we have right now and frankly I am tired of liars. The woman is constantly lying about anything and everything and the way she attacks Obama it is simply unhealthy and she definitely should know better. Hillary is one of those people that you either really hate or like. She is such a polarizing figure that many people just would rather vote republican than vote for her. She has not been able to fix her image, in fact she worsened it.
Sen. Clinton has lied and lied again on the campaign. She used and uses pitiful negative low tactics to defame an opponent instead of competing on the real issues. She first tried to argue that Obama was not "black enough" and he was not in touch with the black community. Now all of a sudden Obama is "too black". Unfortunately, during this campaign, Senator Hillary Clinton has shown herself to be manipulative, egotistical, malicious, power-hungry and divisive. That is why she lost my vote.
If we take a closer look at who is voting for her we will see that she is winning big with seniors and also less educated people. These are the same people who gave us good old George W. Bush. According to CNN, 69% of the voters in Pennsylvania were 45 and older. Senator Clinton received 62% of the 60 and older category and 56% of the 45-59 category. Furthermore, In Ohio 62% of the voters did not have a college degree. Senator Clinton won 58% of their votes. Furthermore, Senator Clinton won 65% of the voters who had no college education at all. Also in Ohio, Hillary won 72% of the 65 and older category and 60% of the 50-64 category. Ironically, in 2004, in Ohio, President Bush won 58% of the 65 and older. He also won the same category in Pennsylvania. They say numbers do not lie. And according to these numbers the elderly and the less educated do not usually vote for the best of candidates. In fact, they vote for the worst.
The negative talk about Clinton can go on forever because there is a lot to talk about and a lot to discuss: Whitewater, travelgate, filegate (three different investigations during her years as the first lady), working for the notorious Wal-Mart, campaigners who were involved in fraud (i.e. Norman Hsu), etc. There is no doubt that she is a fighter. I admire the fire in her but she is really hurting the election because it is mathematically impossible for her to win that nomination. Forget the small states, forget the big states. He is winning in delegates and in the popular vote. He is the winner. Case closed. Move on!
But that is easy to say. People would rather discuss minor things like what he wore or what he may have said or even what his pastor said! I am not also sure why all this big hype because of the reverend of the church where Obama attended. I am not either sure why people care? Do you think that the people who lost their jobs or houses care about what this reverend said or not say? Do you think that people who are working two or three jobs just to be able to survive care what this reverend thinks? How many people do we know who have opinions that we do not agree with but they continue to be friends and sometimes close friends? I am not even sure exactly why we know what church or what religion is Senator Obama. This is private information that should not be known because our constitution allows freedom of religion or is that ink on paper? I do not think when you go to apply to any position that they ask you what religion you are or discuss it openly. This is a political hype that should not have been in the news to begin with.
But let us assume for a minute that this Reverend is an evil scary monster who wishes bad things to all whites. How is that going to make Obama a bad guy? Does anyone really think that he is going to creep into the White House where he is going to bring out his secret black agenda? Come on, we need to think more rationally. We need to stop wondering around like hapless creatures that does not know right from wrong.
We really need to focus on the serious issues. It does not matter what church he goes to or what he said and did not mean or what was misunderstood by some people. What is important is what he can and will do. Let us talk about how we can get out of Iraq or how to fix the soaring gas prices or fix our horrendous economy or our healthcare or our unemployment, etc.
The truth is, Obama is a rare breed. He is a very charismatic person that was able to make many thousands of people to flock to him. He had amazing amount of donations from normal people who believe in him. He did not lie on records about anything nor was there ever anything against him about lying. He did not work as a lawyer for the vicious Wal-Mart. He did not pretend to be something that he is not. He is the JFK of the 21st century. He is a true leader. He is a good man that has my vote and he should have yours as well. Vote Obama and end the drama!
