Vovito Caffe & Gelato the Bravern's Newest Gem in Bellevue, Washington

Working at The Bravern definitely has its perks. After enjoying a nice lunch at my favorite restaurant, John Howie, the bartender told me about the newest gelato sensation at the The Bravern, Vovito. I decided to walk over on the gorgeous sunny day that Seattle so seldom enjoys and try out Vovito for myself. My girlfriend and I were duly impressed when we saw the 24 flavors of homemade gelato for our tasting pleasure. The best part about Vovito is the sampling! I tried at least ten different flavors before settling on a two scoop order of chocolate hazelnut and bubble gum. A strange combination I realize but so tasty and priced reasonably as well.

I learned a few new things about gelato I wasn't aware of. First, Gelato has been an Italian treat for almost 500 years. It's lower in calories and fat than ice cream and the texture feels like eating frozen whipping cream. Vovito doesn't only offer gelato but a full array of Panini's, coffees, and salads. They also have a breakfast menu that will satisfy anyone waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Their pastries are off the hook and the biscotti look amazing as well.

The service wasn't bad on the gelato side. I haven't dined for lunch yet so will leave that to be determined. Considering it was a "soft opening" that I attended I think everyone was new and trying to figure out the cash register, orders, and just the usual confusion of a grand opening. The owner was excited from the stir of new customers and went out of his way to meet and greet. The setting was great with big barstools for those wanting to munch on gelato and be on their way or the dining area for a more intimate sit down chat. The atmosphere was perfect with light music and an Italian feel as if I were visiting a café in Italy.

Another fun attribute of Vovito are the teas they offer. I noticed a few tantalizing flavors such as Green Tea Tropical, Organic Spring Jasmine, Chamomile Citrus, and Ginger Twist. They also have some Chai Frappes and even a detox option. Some of their black teas include Earl Grey Decaf and Bombay Chai if you prefer something a bit darker.

Regardless of your reasons to try Vovito, you definitely won't be disappointed to take time to visit this newest gem of The Bravern.
