Obviously, there are many, many things to do in San Diego - casual to fine dining, water sports, golfing, shopping and the like. This article will mainly mention attractions unique to San Diego.

A visit to the Gaslamp Quarter is a must. It's hard to believe that this was once a mecca for gamblers, prostitutes and drug dealers. Now, it's a trendy place with unique shops, eateries, coffee houses, and bars. Try the Gaslight Strip Club, named for the strip steaks it serves, where you'll cook your own steak.

Next, is Old Town San Diego. Take the trolley for a quick tour of the area. With over 30 restaurants you're sure to find something you'll like. There is also Heritage Park with its Victorian Homes, 27 historic buildings, a theatre, and the Sheriff'sMuseum. And, plenty of places to "shop 'til you drop" with over 100 boutiques and more than 10 art galleries. Old Town is a popular place for weddings and they have several wedding packages to choose from. Coronado is very interesting and while you're there you need to check out the Hotel del Coronado, or The Del as it's locally known. Built in 1888, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977. The Shops at the Del are trendy and unique and include Tommy Bahama. Enjoy a drink or a meal in one of their restaurants. Be sure to travel to Coronado by taking the Coronado Bridge, or The Big Blue, as locals call it. It spans from downtown out to Coronado and carries 77,000 cars every day.

The San Diego Zoo, sister to the Melbourne Zoo in Australia, is an excellent zoo to visit. It's quite large so it's suggested you take a bus tour. (Visit sandiegozoo.com for details) The Wild Animal Park is about half an hour away and is another interesting option.

SeaWorld Adventure Park is worth it if you have enough time. Here, you can even pet the dolphins. (Check them out at www.seaworld.com)

Of course, there are many more things to see and to in San Diego. But, that just means you'll have to visit again, and again.
