'W' Stars Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright Arrested for Bar Fight

Oliver Stone's new biopic W was supposed to be controversial and news worthy on its own, since it is about President Bush. With Josh Brolin as the President, Jeffrey Wright as Colin Powell, and a slew of other big names impersonating those in the Bush administration, W was publicized enough as it was. But thanks to Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright and members of the W film crew, the movie got an unexpected bunch of bad publicity. While on a filming break in New Orleans, Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright and various members of the W crew got into a big bar fight on Saturday, with all of them getting arrested in the process.

A report from a Shreveport, Louisiana police officer said that Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright and five other people were in a bar fight early Saturday morning at a bar called the Stray Cat. Brolin allegedly got into a fight with revellers at the bar, which drew the attention of local police officers.

While the officers tried to split up the fight, Wright and members of the W film crew got involved as well. The resulting fights resulted in Wright and Brolin getting misdemeanor charges for interfering with the police.

Brolin, Wright and the others were arrested just after 2 a.m. that morning. The Shreveport Times reported that Brolin posted a $334 cash bond to be released shortly after his booking. There was no report on whether Wright or the W film crew members paid a bond as well.

In all, a total of 10 police officers were called to the scene. The five W crew members were identified as Evan C. Bates, Cherilyn Young, Amy Draughn, Ismael Martinez and Eric Felland. Felland's bond was set at $752 for entering and remaining, resisting arrest and public intoxication, while the other crew members had a bond of $334 just like Brolin.

Brolin and Wright had been filming W in Shreveport since May, as director Oliver Stone tries to get his biography of President Bush completed and released before the November Presidential election.
