The Wacom Bamboo Craft Tablet is a pen and multi-touch input device for your computer. It comes with a pressure-sensitive pen that is natural and can create both pen and brush strokes whose thickness depends on the pressure applied to the surface by the pen. The surface of the tablet itself is textured to give the feeling of pen on paper. It is compatible with both a desktop or laptop, PC or Mac, and attaches through a USB port. Two sensors provide precise input from both the provided pen or your own finger. When using your fingers, a single finger can be used for navigation, or multiple fingers for gestures. For example, gestures include scrolling, zooming, rotating, and moving backward or forward through the pages of a website. The device is reversible for left or right-handed users.
There are four ExpressKeys on the device which can be assigned shortcuts. If you use the Wacom Bamboo Craft mostly for navigating your desktop or the Internet these shortcuts can involve opening the Internet browswer or going automatically to the homepage. If you use the device for more creative endeavors, you can use the shortcuts to copy and paste, or use a color that you use often. There is a fabric loop attached to the device that secures the pen when you are not using it, and a tutorial is provided to help you get adjusted if you're not using touch-sensitive devices.
In the box you will get the tablet, pen, Quick Start guide, installation CD, and a myriad of software. The software includes a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 for editing, retouching, enhancing, and sharing your digital photos. You will also get a full-version of Corel Painter Essentials 4.0 for creating media art and turning photos into paintings. The tablet also comes with Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 WE3 for selectively applying lighting and photo enhancements with the pen. Between these you're getting the software the tablet needs to help you manipulate media and create scrapbooks or whatever crafts you're interested in. There are also a number of offers in the box that you have the option to take advantage of. There is an offer for a free 8x8 Shutterfly photo album. An offer for a free Cafe Press online store. An offer for a free one-year subscription to Scrapbooking & Beyond magazine. Lastly, there is an offer for free online training with DigitalScrapbookingPlace.com.
