Wait a Second..

Just a Second..

Tussy
Wait a second,

for the next year to start,

and the present year to depart.

Just a second,

the next year will be delayed,

and the present year will be stayed.

Wait a second,

an iota of time,

will delay the clock's chime.

Just a second,

will be added to the year 2008,

and that much time 2009 will be late.

Wait a second,

for the old Earth to catch up,

to the super accurate atomic clock.

Just a second,

will be inserted,

between 2008 and 2009 as ordered.

Wait a second,

ordered the nominal timekeeper,

so a second void before the New Year

Just a second,

called Leap Second will be added,

as internationally agreed.

Wait a second,

on New Year's Eve,

the master clock will be adjusted.

Just a second, at 23:59:60 GMT or 6:59:60 pm EST

the world's clock will be made to agree,

to planet Earth rotating ever so slowly.

Wait a second, for just a second,

time will stand still,

beyond anyone's will.

Great job with this! You took something topical and brought it beyond that.
