Wake Up and See What is Happening to Our Nation

Recession: Realities of Our Economy

Catdog
Of course, I learned in my business class one night, that in recession comes unemployment rising out of sight. The proper terminology for this is cyclical unemployment, which is the vicious cycle caused by economic disorder, torrent. Unemployment skyrockets and spending drops. Companies cut back, and we lose our jobs. The demand for the products begin to slow. Corporations lose money and let us go. Resulting in a tougher job market as we know. Memphis recruiters have personally told me that with each position, over 500 resumes they see, and my professor in writing told me of his friend, a philosopher, his job was released, now he has become only a pizza deliverer. The only place he could find a steady paycheck is going from the best to pizza man, what a wreck!

Markets tremendously slow down, leaving only a ponder. Depression are we faced? A chance, we must decide to conquer. A sign from up above? Maybe so it tells us Americans that united we are not, divided we are, just some of life's lessons. The rich get richer, and middle class is no longer exists as a class. No one donates any longer to our unity, we are as weak as the thinnest of glass.

Americans we claim! Yet no longer are we united and strong. Selfishness, the ruler of our nation, has turned it all wrong. Then we have the hypocrites that say we should be feeding our hungry. However, I have yet to see the rich giving any of their personal energy, except for the wrong reasons they give, charities, only to get a tax write-off. Not knowing the true meaning, or caring, I suppose. Hello! It's a big TURN-OFF! " I donate my money to charity," they all claim, and I say to them, "Look in the mirror, and Bite me! You are lame!"

Now, to those who have been there, seen it first-hand, we know homelessness is increasing, a daily demand, which is ever so forcefully pulling each of us. It is grasping us so tight, just sucking us in, leaving us weak, and unable to fight! More businesses hourly do close, and even more homes are lost each day. To this I say, "Your charity doesn't help where my head must lay!"

So now we must look at where we did fall blind to a world, and our nation divided? Wondering, "Where went our strength united?" Closer daily many of us do come to losing it all, while the rich look disgusted, and are still standing tall.

Now it is time for us to stand and say:

For all of "us" living on the edge, we must fight as hard as we can! When even the rich lose it all, then we will still offer our hand. Why? Because of our character. Definition: Because we have compassion, oh! and WE CARE! We remember daily where we came from, most in despair. We also know how we got here to where we are today, this place; the challenges we survived, hitting them head-on, face to face. And when our economy prevails, shouldn't it be our turn to finally thrive? After all, we are the ones who honestly learned how to survive. Maybe that is why people like "us" are unique: pure and true; United, Strong, and Survivors are qualities of us, only the remaining few.

Our government spends 1.38 billion on a daily basis. Mostly to other countries who just love our good graces, they lay blinded that our country is crumbling under their feet. When our own homeland, too many people, a job is all they want and truly need. But still our government is outsourcing our jobs, money, and quality of life to third-world countries. Astonished and amazed, "how long it will take to learn, you Pharisees?"

Keep fighting and never, ever lose hope America!

When will we wake up and take a realistic look at what is happening: each business closing daily, each family hungry, another eviction or bank foreclosure? Are we as Americans paying attention to any of this at all, or is it just me?

That is sad. All the more reason for less government and for you to start your own business, oh young one. It is time for you to feel the force...for the force is with you. Do not despair. It has never been easier than today to anyone to start their own business. Think for yourself. Do not count on the government or anyone else for that matter. And you will succeed. As will everyone else.

I loved the last line, too! The problem in this nation is that everyone is out for themselves only! To hell with everybody else, just so long as MY apple cart doesn't get turned over! "A house divided can't stand", and that is clearly what our enemies are hoping for!

At the office where I worked (and was subsequently laid off after 20 years of service), they are laying off 40 more of my friends this Friday. I just want to bitch-slap those idiots who say that our economy is fine. I went from making almost $10 per hour with benefits, to working a manual labor job for minimum wage and no benefits. When even highly educated folks end up working for McDonalds because there is nothing else, where does that leave the rest of us? Awesome writing, Catdog.
