Wal-Mart Bans "Merry Christmas"

Seeking Protesters!

Daisy May
It's true! Wal-Mart has banned its employees from saying Merry Christmas, unless it has been said to them first.

When the Wal-Mart corporate offices answered my call I asked them "Is it true that Wal-Mart is restricting the use of the phrase "Merry Christmas" in their stores?"

She answered "Yes. We have given notice that the words Happy Holidays should be said in place of Merry Christmas."

I asked "Why would Wal-Mart do this?"

She said, "Because not everyone celebrates Christmas. We don't want to offend anyone."

I asked "What would happen to someone that said Merry Christmas?"

"To who?" she said.

I asked again "What would happen to a customer if they said Merry Christmas and what would happen to an employee if they said Merry Christmas first?"

She hesitated and said "I don't think anything would happen to a customer."

I asked again "What will happen to an employee?"

She hesitated again before saying "I don't think they will be fired." But what will happen? Will they be wrote up?" "I don't know. I don't think anything will happen to them."

I asked, "Isn't it a bit hypocritical to sell and make lots of money off of any item that has to do with Christmas, religion, angels, crosses, books out of your Bible or Spirituality center, and even the Easter baskets?"

She said "I understand."

When I asked who decided that Happy Holidays should be said, she asked me to hold on a minute. When she came back on, she apologized for placing me on hold and I said that it was ok.

I asked again who decided this, she replied "The higher ups."

I asked "Who exactly decided this? Surely there must have been a board of directors or someone that specifically decided. Who was these people?"

She said "Well, Lee Scott for one."

I said "Who else?"

"The higher ups. The CEOs and higher."

I thanked her for her time and she thanked me for calling.

I plead with all that believe in the spirit and reason for Christmas, even if not in the strictest religious of reasons, to say Merry Christmas to every Wal-Mart employee you see in the store. If you can and have the nerve, stand at their door and wish everyone a Merry Christmas that comes through.

Call the Walmart corporate office at 1-800-WAL-MART (1-800-925-6278). Or you can email them from their site at http://walmartstores.com/GlobalWMStoresWeb/navigate.do?catg=224. Let them know what you think of Wal-Mart's new politically correct policy! Protest in whatever legal way you feel that you should. Speak up! Let them know Christmas is not politically incorrect!

Jesus said "If you deny me, I will deny you to the FATHER
The Only way to the Father is through me".
And if Christans do not stick together and protest this attack on our beliefs, And let it be known that we will not shop these stores that are so afraid of offending someone.
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT WE ARE OFFENDED.
Pray that the CEO's stand up and voice the opinions they hold so we can recognize who they are.

I for one will boycott Walmart for banning employees from wishing customers Merry Christmas.
In Corporate's zeal to not want to offend anyone, they have ultimately offended Christians.

What happens with people that do not celebrate the holidays but Christmas????
By the way, Jesus was born Dec. 24th, so this is christmas. Like it or not, this is the christmas celebration, not just simple holidays.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL

This is completely ridiculus that they cannot say "Merry Christmas" at a public store. I remember when I was a kid and everyone would say "Merry Christmas". This is one more reason not to shop at Walmart.

I think because the store owners, are Jews.....

Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. The day that we allow someone to tell us that we can't say Merry Christmas, kind of reminds me of a person that took 30 pieces of silver onetime.

I think it is pretty sad when the higher ups in the company can tell employees that, they cannot say MERRY CHRISTMAS,for fear of losing their jobs or being written up! what about all of the millions the company is making off of people who have the christmas spirit? maybe we should go to other stores to purchase our gifts!

no, actually its not a 'rumor' referring to someone elses comment. My old job also banned us from saying merry christmas. Its happy holidays. It wont be long till EVERY store in America does this.

We need to do something about this. As Christians and Americans we need to finally take a stand. We have been quiet for to long. The saying goes," The squeeking wheel gets the oil ". Squeek, squeek, squeek all the way to the top.

Perhaps all us Christians should refrain from shopping at Walmart in protest! Let Walmart know we are a nation under God and will not support an atheistic chain of stores. To hit them in the pocketbook will show them we Christians mean business. It is hard to believe that Walmart has instructed its employees to wish Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Sounds communistic to me.
