Walgreens Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake

Consumer Product Review

Thomas J McCabe

Recently, I purchased and ate a Walgreens Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake for the first time and I'm very glad that I did so. This muffin - like crumb cake is very pleasant - tasting and is similar to a bakery produced crumb cake in appearance, size, flavor and overall quality.

Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines Walgreens Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake.

Size
The net weight of the standard sized Walgreens Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake is 4.5 ounces (128 grams). This is a pretty good sized crumb cake or muffin; it contains two 1/2 muffin servings. To be honest, when I recently tried one of these crumb cakes, there was no way I could eat only half of the item, because it tasted so good. Before I knew it, the entire muffin was eaten. In physical size, the crumb cake measures in at roughly 2.5" x 3".

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 4.5 ounce Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake at Hartford, Connecticut area Walgreens Pharmacies is approximately $1.29. This price seems reasonable to me, considering the item's ample size, great taste and overall high quality.

Texture / Consistency
This cinnamon crumb cake is as much a muffin as it is a crumb cake. Upon taking my first bite of the cake, the top of it seemed fairly moist and the bottom part was slightly drier and a little bit crumbly, which could explain why it is called a crumb cake.

It would be nice to try a Walgreens Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake again, except next time, I would like to eat one along with a hot cup of coffee. The overall mouth - feel offered by this crumb cake is generally pleasing.

Nutritional Facts
Walgreens' Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake contains 250 calories, with 110 calories from fat, per 1/2 muffin serving. This snack cake also contains 3 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 13 grams total fat. 30 mg of cholesterol, 160 mg of sodium, 32 grams total carbohydrates, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 18 grams of sugars and 3 grams of protein, per 1/2 muffin serving.

Taste / Flavor
When it comes to flavor, Walgreens' Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake has a lot to offer. While cinnamon is indeed a predominant flavor in the cake, the cinnamon flavor is also appealingly understated. The cake / muffin is sweet, but not overly sweet and it offers a homemade like flavor and goodness that spells - out comfort food.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.

Packaging
Walgreens Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake is packaged in a clear plastic wrapper. The front label features minimal text and illustration; only a gold and maroon strip of color and the name of the product are printed there and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information.

The wrapper opens easily, but does not necessarily re-close effectively.

Overall Rating
The Walgreens Cafe W Cinnamon Crumb Cake is a pleasant tasting item that is essentially a muffin. This reasonably priced baked good features a nice texture, but it is a little bit crumbly.

Stocked and sold at Walgreens Pharmacies everywhere, this crumb cake is a recommended item.
