Walgreens' Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream

Consumer Product Review

Thomas J McCabe

While shopping at a West Hartford, Connecticut Walgreens Pharmacy last week, the ice cream flavors that I normally purchase were out of stock, so I decided to purchase a one pint container of Walgreens Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream. Although this premium ice cream costs a little more than Walgreens' regular style ice cream, it is still priced significantly lower than most name brand one pint ice cream containers.

Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines Walgreens' Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream.

Size
The size of the Walgreens Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream container being reviewed here is the one pint container. Whereas many brands of ice cream have made the size of their one pint containers smaller by a couple of ounces, this variety of Walgreens brand ice cream still weighs - in at one pint (473 ml).

According to the product's nutrition facts label, the container holds four 1/2 cup servings of ice cream. To be honest, I received only two servings from the container. This ice cream tastes so good, I almost couldn't stop eating it.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 1 pint container of Walgreens Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream at Hartford, Connecticut area Walgreens Pharmacies is approximately $2.29. This price is the regular price charged for one pint containers of Walgreens' premium ice cream flavors.

Consistency / Texture
This tasty ice cream features several different pleasing textures. Firstly, the vanilla ice cream itself is a premium ice cream and it is very smooth and creamy. Populating the vanilla ice cream are lots of good sized pieces of Moose Tracks fudge and miniature peanut butter cups.

Nutritional Facts
Walgreens Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream contains 170 calories, with 90 calories from fat, per 1/2 cup serving. This ice cream also contains 5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 10 grams total fat, 25 mg of cholesterol, 70 mg of sodium, 18 grams total carbohydrates, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 17 grams of sugars and 2 grams of protein, per 1/2 cup serving.

Taste / Flavor
On a regular basis, I purchase and eat several different flavors of Walgreens ice cream. Usually, I purchase one of the regular flavors, such as chocolate or vanilla, not the premium flavors. As it turns out, I'm glad that my local Walgreens Pharmacy was sold out of the regular flavors on the night that I purchased the Moose Tracks ice cream. Otherwise, I might not have tried this excellent item.

The vanilla ice cream tastes like a very good version of vanilla and the pieces of Moose Tracks fudge taste like real fudge. The two flavors taste great together and the miniature peanut butter cups taste just like their bigger, more common counterparts. All put together, these flavors form a delectable and satisfying flavor of ice cream.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 9.50.

Packaging
Walgreens Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream is packaged in a standard type round cardboard one pint ice cream container. The front label features a black background with an illustration of a scoop of the enclosed ice cream along with the original Denali Moose Tracks moose head logo. The rear and side panels list all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information and a brief history of Walgreens' ice cream.

Overall Rating
This frozen conglomeration of flavors is quite delicious and filled with fun chocolate additions. The pieces of fudge are substantial in size and the mini peanut butter cups taste great and look cute. Even though it is a premium ice cream, Walgreens' Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream is very reasonably priced.

Walgreens' Moose Tracks Premium Ice Cream is stocked and sold at Walgreens Pharmacies across America and is highly recommended by this food writer.
