On a regular basis, I purchase and eat a wide variety of Walgreens private label snack cakes and other baked goods. Just recently, Walgreens introduced its 'Nice!' private label line of food products. One of the first Nice! brand items that I bought was their chocolate chip chocolate muffin and I subsequently bought another one a few days ago.
This muffin seems like a good product to review, so presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines Walgreens Nice! Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffin
Size
The net weight of the standard sized Walgreens Nice! Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffin is 4.5 ounces. According to the product's nutrition facts label, the muffin contains two 1/2 muffin (64 grams) servings.
This is a good sized muffin and I have eaten one of them on more than one occasion. Each time I have eaten one of them, the muffin tasted so good, I couldn't stop eating it halfway through, so I ate the entire muffin.
Price
The regular retail price charged for one 4.5 ounce Walgreens Nice! Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffin at Hartford, Connecticut area Walgreens Pharmacies is approximately $1.29. This price seems very reasonable to me.
Texture / Consistency
This chocolate muffin features a pleasing texture that speaks of expert baking methods and high quality ingredients. For the most part, the muffin offers a pleasing mouth feel, but like many other muffins, it is not really dry, but it is also not brimming over with moistness.
The top, or crown of the Walgreens Nice! Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffin is slightly moister, yet firmer than the interior of the muffin and it provides a little bit of contrast. Also, the muffin is studded throughout with chocolate chips, which add another dimension of texture to the item.
Nutritional Facts

This muffin also contains 3.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 12 grams total fat, 30 mg of cholesterol, 170 mg of sodium, 32 grams total carbohydrates, 1 gram of dietary fiber, 17 grams of sugars and 3 grams of protein, per 1/2 muffin serving.
Taste / Flavor
While this muffin does taste quite good, I think that the addition of some more, or maybe sweeter chocolate would be of benefit to the overall flavor of the muffin. The muffin really does taste good and it is not overly - sweet, but there are also not too many chocolate chips populating the item.
Don't get me wrong, this is a very tasty muffin. But, because it is only mildly sweet, I think it could use some more chocolate chips. After all, this is a chocolate chip chocolate muffin. On a flavor scale of one through one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 8.50.
Packaging
Walgreens' Nice! Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffin is packaged in a clear, brown and white plastic wrapper. On the front label, underneath where the name of the product is printed, are the words 'Chocolate Overload With Every Bite'. The rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information. The package opens easily, but it does not necessarily reclose effectively.
Overall Rating
Walgreens Nice! Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffin is basically a very good product. It is pretty big in size and is quite tasty. If it contained more chocolate chips, it would be even tastier.
Stocked and sold at Walgreens Pharmacies everywhere, this reasonably priced chocolate chip chocolate muffin is a recommended item.
