Using Walgreens.Com For All Your Prescription Needs

Walgreens is one of the largest pharmacy chains in the United States. Walgreens' website, Walgreens.com, has steadily expanded their online pharmacy options over the past several years. Customers have many choices to manage their prescriptions through Walgreens.com now and Walgreens offers many services no one else can match. If you haven't looked at Walgreens.com recently, you should, it will make management of your prescriptions much easier. And all for free!

Most pharmacies offer online refills. Simply log on to the site, enter the information from your bottle or click the prescription(s) you need refilled, choose a pick-up time and voila! You can request refill reminders every month so you don't forget. However, Walgreens.com goes two steps further. You can sign up for refill reminders, but don't stop there! You can sign up for automatic refills! Once your initial prescription is in the system, log on to your account and click on "Set Up Auto Refills." You'll see your prescription history and you can choose which prescriptions you want refilled automatically each month. Choose one or all, it's free no matter how many prescriptions you have.

Walgreens.com and a few other pharmacies, like CVS.com, offer free standard shipping of your refills, as well expedited shipping for a fee. What if you need your refill tomorrow or the day after tomorrow? Only Walgreens.com can help. For $10.95 per order, your medications will arrive on your door step in two days, and for $17.95 per order, your medications can be in your hands the next day.

What if you want automatic refills and have those refills shipped to you? Once again, Walgreens.com has you covered. Never miss one day of your medication again! Sign up for automatic refills and choose home delivery, and your medications will arrive by USPS each month. And it's free. That's right, I said free! It's like having your own personal concierge.

You can transfer prescriptions from other pharmacies to Walgreens on Walgreens.com. All you need is your bottle, and your doctor's name and phone number. Fill in your existing pharmacy's information, the prescription number, the medication name and strength, the quantity, and your doctor's name and phone number. A Walgreens pharmacist will take care of the rest.

Sometimes doctors would rather speak to a pharmacist instead of giving you a paper prescription order. You can take care of this on Walgreens.com too. You need to provide your doctor's name, and phone number, and a Walgreens pharmacist will call your doctor and take care of your prescription. Once your prescription is filled, it can be shipped to you or you can pick it up at your local Walgreens.

If you want to refill online but pick up at your local Walgreens, you can easily do that. But why not save some time and sign up for ExpressPay? Log on to your Walgreens.com account and choose ExpressPay from the menu. Enter your credit or debit card information and you're good to go. Simply swing by your Walgreens drive-thru window and pick up your prescription: nothing to sign, and no wait.

Are you caring for an elderly parent? Walgreens.com's services can make your life a little easier. You can use all the same services like online refills, automatic refills, and free shipping for your parent. There is an entire section of the website devoted to caregivers, providing links to services and products you might need. Confused about Medicare Part D prescription plans? Enter your parent's medications and you'll receive a free report detailing the plans available in your area, how many of your parent's medications are covered by each plan and what price classes they fall into. You'll also find information on premiums, deductibles and co-pays. Are you eligible for Medicare Part D too? You can also receive a free report.

Walgreens.com offers a few other services to help you manage your health. You can keep track of immunizations, both yours and your children's. You can even set up email reminders so you don't forget when an immunization is due. You can enter your medical conditions, OTC medications or supplements you're taking, as well as your drug allergies into an online health history. Worried about drug interactions? Check out the drug interaction section, you can even search for interactions with supplements and OTC medications. If you're frustrated (or pained) by childproof caps, you request easy-open caps on your prescription bottles. Would you like to read more about the medications you take? Search for them in Walgreens.com's drug database. Do you have questions about any of your medications? Email a Walgreens pharmacist and receive an answer in about one business day. In addition to refill and immunization reminders, you can even have Walgreens.com send you reminders about doctor's appointments, birthdays and anniversaries, or anything you need a little help to remember.

Walgreens.com offers many free tools and there's no reason not to take advantage of them. No other pharmacy has as many ways to help you manage your prescriptions and take charge of your health.
