The Wiggle Waggle Walk is not a race; it's just a leisurely walk with or without your pet! Registration begins at 9 a.m. on October 13. There will be water stations along the walk route for you and your pet.
All pets must be at least six months old, show proof of required vaccinations and be properly licensed. Female dogs in heat are not permitted. Your pet should be in shape for the walk and wear a suitable collar. Leashes may be no longer than six feet.
Start collecting pledges today! You can register as an individual or join a "pack," a group of people who join together and raise at least $500 total. Packs will get a sign with its name to walk with and a group photo. This is great for coworkers, friends, families or other groups! If you plan to walk as a pack, you should plan to pre-register online prior to October 10. For more information about forming a pack, call the SPCA of Central Florida at 407-248-1758.
There are prizes for individuals who raise certain amounts of money. The least you must raise is $25. Individuals and packs may turn in donations from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10 at the Lake Mary PetSmart or from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Orlando and Seminole shelters.
Besides the walk, there will be lots of refreshments and treats. There will also be pet businesses showcasing their goods and services.
Don't forget to enter the contests! You could win "Best Pet Trick," "Best Costume," "Best Tail Wagger," or "Best Owner/Pet Look-A-Like."
