Walk with Me

take my hand

gently wrap your fingers around mine

and let's walk for awhile.

Let's talk about you and me,

our friendship and how it grew.

Let's lie on the grass and

look at the clouds

to see what we can find,

funny faces, shapes of animals,

hearts, just feel free

the clouds will float into

whatever it is we ask them to be.

Let's sit by the shore

and watch the birds

swoop down to get the fish,

and the sailboats floating

across the water so effortlessly.

Let's picnic under the big oak tree

sharing a meal made for three

you, me, and the ants you see.

Let's take a drive and

park at the highest point

and watch over the city

taking in all the glorious lights

and watch as the city falls asleep.

Now it's time for you and me

to embrace and share this night.
