I always buy brand name sneakers, and whether it is Nike, Reebok, or any of the others, I still have problems, with pain in my toes, rubbing on the sides, and general foot discomfort. I have been looking for a pair of sneakers that would be better for my feet, but didn't want to pay over $100 for them.
Today in Sears they were having a sale. I saw several Dr. Scholl's sneakers on sale, and couldn't believe that the Inspire 59885 were reduced from $69.99 to $29.99. I just hoped that they would have my size, and they would be comfortable.
I checked the boxes and there were 8 wide and 8 and a half wide. I first tried on the size 8, and my toe nail came right up to the front of the sneaker. I then tried on the 8 and a half wide (Euro 39). My right foot went in easily, and then I had difficulty getting the left one on with the security tag. Once on I tied the laces and was ready to walk.
I couldn't believe it, I felt like I was walking on air. I almost bounced along. After a couple of minutes I was happy to purchase them. We have a Sear's rewards card, which means that all our purchases at Sears and K-Mart give us money to spend in either store. After using my rewards too it brought down my sneakers to $26.
The color I have is plum, although it says grey/purple on the box. They also come in blue, fuschia, and orange.
As soon as I got home I took off my Nike sneakers and put on my new Dr. Scholl's. I always thought that Dr. Scholl's shoes were old fashioned, but these are great. They have purple leather, and shiny silver around the leather, and a type of silver mesh over the bulk of the shoes. The bottom of the soles are purple and black. The next layer up is gray. The one above that is white. They are rounded at the front and at the back. They have white laces.
So off I go walking. The first few minutes I felt a little wobbly and almost as if I was rocking. Then I got into my stride, and in no time at all I had walked 3 miles. My feet didn't ache, they weren't sore wearing new shoes. I was gellin'.
Normally it takes me 3 MONTHS to break in new sneakers. They rub my toes, the side of my feet, or my heels. The leather is so hard and uncomfortable. These babies make you feel as if you are walking on air. I cannot praise them enough.
This is what Dr. Scholl's say about their Inspire sneakers:
"You'll be motivated to lead a healthy lifestyle in the Inspire fitness shoes from Dr. Scholl's Original.
* Breathable leather and mesh upper in a sporty sneaker style with a round toe
* Lace-up front, padded tongue and collar
* Dri-Lex(R) moisture-wicking lining with Aegis(R) anti-microbial treatment
* Cushioning Dr. Scholl's(R) massaging gel insert absorbs shock
* Rocker bottom rubber traction outsole."
I am a walker, and can walk 20,000 to 25,000 steps a day when we are staying at the beach. I cannot do it barefoot because of my ball of the foot problem, crocs just make my feet sore, and my trainers give me awful blisters. I now have a pair of Dr. Scholl's Fitness Walkers that will give me the "New and outrageous comfort of Dr. Scholl's Fitness Walkers.
Tomorrow I will be heading back to Sears to pick up a second pair.
I was able to get them for $29.99 at Sears with a further 15% off of shoes. This time I purchased the blue Inspire Fitness Walkers.

Post a CommentThis is great info. My daughter gets sore feet, too. I will check Sears tomorrow.
Sure sounds like a keeper. Food comfort is vitally important - I always have to watch the toe box as some are too narrow for me. I like Easy Spirit shoes the best. Good review. rcj
