But the heart does not understand to let go
Left on our own to sort out reality
Wishing for happier days long ago
Walking away - how can it be so easy?
When a heart-a soul-is so entwined
Yet, for some the memory is all that is needed
For some, it's best to leave the love behind
Sometimes we are those who walk away
Sometimes we are the one struggling to hold on
But in each lost love we discover our strength
We can see through the darkness and look to the dawn
One love does not define who we are
One love does not decide our fate
We are the keepers of our own destiny
Our happiness is our own responsibility to create
So grieve for the love that is no more
Rely on the comfort that comes from a friend
In each ending there is a new beginning
And your heart will find the courage to mend

Post a CommentIt's as if you wrote this series of poems for my daughter who's heart was recently broken. I must share them with her.
Very good.
True about new beginnings. A lot of endings are probably for the best anyway.
PV love today
