Walking Can Clear the Mind

Denise Larkin

Walking through a park,
Then sitting on a bench
Watching the ducks
As they eat their bread
Is a bliss in itself.

Nature is free
So we should be too,
So sit a while and learn
How to be feel this way.

Go walking through a field,
Watch the birds
And the trees,
And think what it would be like
To be wild and free.

Let the sun glisten around you,
Let the wind blow in your hair,
Whilst you close your eyes
As you take a breath to sit for a while.

Do this for a few minutes,
As it will clear out negative thoughts
Helping your mind to smoothly flow,
So that you can live
And feel alive just for walking a few miles.

We all need time to reflect,
And to do this we need our walks,
Either through a park,
Or on a beach
Through a field where green grass is rich.

Walking can take away sad thoughts,
And help you to think straight,
Whilst making you fit
And helping you to lose weight.

Most of all,
Walking is an energy
That will bring us good feelings
And help us to relax
And sleep good at night,
So do it everyday
Even if it's for charity like Cancer Research or Kidney Research.
It is for a good cause after all.

So, don't be afraid to get those walking shoes on
And walk for a mile or two or three or four or five,
Because after it is done
A greatness will come
Giving you a prosperity that you will remember
For years to come.
