Walking and Talking with God

Jean Davis
No more lazy, hazy days of Summer. Those days are long past.
Our lives are so full of busyness. The seasons go by so fast.
Whatever happened to the bygone days when people sat on their porches and talked?
Or sometimes after the evening meal they just held hands and walked.
For those who don't know what a porch is, today it's known as a deck.
Be careful and don't get caught up in the cares of this world that your life becomes a wreck.
Take just a few moments and look at all the beauty around you.
The birds, trees, flowers, butterflies and the sky, oh, so blue.
Remember who created these things for the enjoyment of all mankind.
You may have a pang of guilt and ask," Father, How could I have been so blind?"
Still, it's not too late. Some things haven't changed at all.
God is still the same as always; He's waiting for you to call.
So this evening, late, when your day is finished, sit for awhile on the deck and talk.
Then just before night falls say," Okay, Father, let's go for a walk.
(You will be assured of a good nights sleep)
