Walking the Tightrope

C. Love
Eyes fixed on the destination
I step out
The tightrope begins to sway
As I redistribute my weight
Looking down
Nothing beneath to break my fall

I see you

Step by step
Further from safety
Not close enough to security
Winds rising, crowd roaring
Distractions wage war against ambition

I hear you

Your words bring balance
I tread more confidently
Onto the bridge of your encouragement
With end in sight
You bid me to come

I feel you

An outstretched hand
A leap of faith
Which isn't too daunting
When you have someone to hang onto

Oops I meant to say you have effectively captured the anxiety we all sometimes feel.

Wow. I have definitely walked the tight rope sometimes and have been overwhelmed with the anticipation for something to happen quickly. You have effectively the anxiety we all sometimes feel.

I love this! One of your best pieces.

Takes a lot of bravery to take the road less taken. Even more bravery for the tight rope!

This really hit home. I believe that every person who chooses to follow their dreams must walk this tightrope at some point or another.
