Given I love to walk, I began to explore ways to turn my walks into more of an exercise activity. After reading up on a number of power walks, I bought some weights to carry with me when I went walking. However, I soon put these weights down because I found that they were too unwieldy for me to carry them around especially if I wanted to stop off and do some errands. While walking kept me from being a couch potato, it just wasn't producing the muscle tone that I wanted. So, I kept looking for that one piece of equipment that would transform my walks into a workout while keeping me stylish.
When I stumbled across Fitness U Wear, I felt I might have found the solution to my exercise dilemma. Their half pound wrist bands and one pound ankle bands seemed to be just the right weight for me. They weren't too heavy to weigh me down or so light that they didn't add any punch to my walking routine. Also, these bands come in a variety of prints that make me look as though I am wearing stylish bands not frumpy exercise gear.
While these bands are not recommended for using the computer for long durations, someone like me who is already active one can wear them every day. For those who are inactive, it's recommended that one gradually increases the use of these bands until one can wear them every day. These bands shouldn't be worn when running or engaging in high impact exercise. Also, while the decorative band covers can be removed and washed, these bands should not be used in water.
These days I wear the bands whenever I'm doing housework, cooking, errands, hopping on the subway or the bus, and other every day activities. I don't have to schedule time to work out as I'm getting my exercise whenever I leave the keyboard and put on these bands.
Already I can see signs that this regime seems to be working. The wrist weights are improving my upper body muscle tone while strengthening my chest, arm, shoulders and core. The ankle weights are starting to tone my legs, hips and glutes. Finally, I can get in shape while just living my life.
