Wall-E Halloween Costume

Create a Pixar Favorite

With Halloween coming, it's easy to find ways to dress up without spending a lot of money. For characters like Disney's "Wall-E" this character's design and look makes it easy for any novice costume maker to create the Disney hit without breaking the checkbook. Also, the task of making your own costume can be a great way to spend time with your child during the Halloween season in order to lay some ground rules for trick-or-treating, walking with friends, and traffic safety.

You will need:

• A cardboard box
• Color markers
• Extra cardboard for props
• Glue
• Two soda cans
• Paper
• String or yarn
• Black paper (optional)

1. Make sure the cardboard box is the right size for your child. Undo the flaps on the tops and bottom of the cardboard box so that the child will be able to place it over their body.

2. Color the top flap light gray.

3. Afterwards, your child can apply some of Wall-E's decals as seen in the movie. Most of the decals are squares and circles, which will make it easier for your child to draw.

4. Draw the "Wall-E" logo at the bottom right portion of the front part of the box.

5. Attach two strings at the top portion of the box. The string will serve as straps.

6. With the extra cardboard, draw two triangles (One triangle should be slightly smaller than the other) and three circles (Two small circles and one big circle).

7. Color a black border around the smaller of the two triangles.

8. Color the circles black. Glue the circles to the smaller of the triangles. Afterwards, glue that attachment to the larger triangle.

9. Remember to make two of these for each side of the cardboard box. Glue these props to the right and left.

10. With the two cans, glue them together. After wrapping brown paper around the two cans, attach a square piece of cardboard on top of the cans. Cut two white pieces of paper into circles and glue them to the tops of both cans. This prop will serve as the eyes for your "Wall-E" costume. You can either attach two black pieces of paper for pupils, or you can color them in with marker. Next attach two small pieces of string at the bottom of the cans to be used as a strap to wrap around the chin so that the Wall-E eyes can sit comfortably on top.
