Wall Street, the Rabid FOX, and Granny Clampett

The Pledge of Fair and Balanced

Orchiolum
With smirk and snarl
through venomous split
hypocritical convenience
and dearth of wit
.

Granny Clampett would surely whisper,
"I'd render those jowls in pots
but the pointy fingers of moral majorities
is powerful bitter crops.

So Jed, git back, real slow like,
this FOX is rabider now than before...
we're gonna need a heap of straitjackets
piled high yonder at the Tea Party door."

My apology to Irene Ryan and the cast and crew of The Beverly Hillbillies who gave hysterical contrast to substance and shallowness...for writing them into the same space as The Rabid FOX and Wall Street, each unworthy.

Missing those great characters! Thanks for bringing them back to life, if only for a short while.

Ha I loved this, and I bet that Granny and the Clampett gang would consider this a real compliment!

This is piquant - I like the ironic metaphor. It sort of makes me laugh and cry at the same time.

Great take on the issue. I never thought of Granny as a social commentator before.

LOL The situation is far from funny, but the way you nailed it is.

I loved Granny! Wonder character! She remains one of my life-long anti-heros!
