Wall's that I've Scaled

Casey
When I was five my dad had cancer twice

When I was ten I caught a twenty-five pound northern

When I was eleven my parents got divorced

When I was twelve I went to Acapulco

When I was fifteen I was choked for the first time

A week before I turned eighteen I left him

When I was eighteen I got in a car accident I should have died in

I also went to UMD for a summer and to Cancun for graduation

That same year I was thrown out of a moving vehicle

Multiple times, choked nearly everyday, sexually assaulted, and

Beaten like a man until I was nineteen when he tried to rape me

Months after I was free I met the man of my dreams

Since then I've fished, hunted, and lived my own life

Three days before I turned twenty-one

Anticipating my twenty first birthday

I bashed my face into a wall

Smashing my front tooth out or rather back, I put it back in

Three and half months from my twenty-second birthday

I hope for sunny skies, to keep my tooth and no walls in my way
