Walmart Offers Free Shipping: Competes with Amazon for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2010 Customers

Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2010 Draws Competition from Walmart and Amazon

Walmart is to offer free shipping to its millions of shoppers this holiday season starting on November 26th, Black Friday 2010. Walmart seems ready to take on Amazon in the online cyber wars, also known as Cyber Monday 2010, for holiday shoppers and their dollars.

Amazon.com currently offers its Prime customers free 2-day shipping if they join and pay an annual fee of $79. Since I am an Amazon Prime member, I totally feel that it is worth the $79 as I do a lot of online shopping whether it is Black Friday or Cyber Monday 2010.

Walmart has offered free shipping from Site-to-Store for a long time. But that still meant the consumers had to get in their cars and drive to the brick-and-mortar store versus having the package delivered to their door. This new Walmart free shipping is applicable to 60,000+ holiday shopping items and is included in both the Black Friday 2010 and Cyber Monday 2010 sales.

A couple of things to keep in mind about the Walmart free shipping offer, whether you are using it for Black Friday or Cyber Monday 2010: 1. The free shipping is not applicable on tires and Walmart's Marketplace products. 2. This Walmart free shipping is not available forever. The offer ends on December 20th 2010. 3. If you want next day shipping, expect to pay a fee for it.

Walmart recently announced their Black Friday 2010 sales advertisement, technically it was leaked, but Walmart also released this statement, "Customers are doing all they can to save money this holiday, so we're excited to offer free shipping to home, with no minimum purchase requirement as an early Christmas present to them."

Cyber Monday is always the Monday following the Thanksgiving weekend and this year Cyber Monday 2010 falls on November 29th. Amazon.com is the largest player in the Cyber Monday world and they roll out their online deals all day long. But supplies are usually limited so you need to watch carefully and grab the deals you want at Amazon quickly.

What a gret article on the healthy competition between businesses for our hard-earned dollars. It is always great to find out they really appreciate our status as customers.
