Walmart Shares - an Employee's Nightmare

Forcing New, Often Naive Employees into Buying Shares with Their Hard Earned Wages

David Yetty
Walmart is once again on the chopping block and may see another mega lawsuit by ex employees for making them buy shares with their hard earned wages and than never seeing the daylight of any returns.

This could be the next biggest law suite facing Walmart by employees if they don't get their act together.

Numerous complaints have come in by employees (mostly ex student and young part time workers) who say Walmart gave them no option when putting them on a Walmart Share plan as soon as they were hired. Money taken out at every pay check for Walmart shares they never got to see the daylight once they were terminated.

Most of these employees are young, innocent victims with part time or full employment.. With no idea about shares or stocks, they are forced to go with the flow of signing up. Further more, they are discouraged to sell while in employment. Most part time or short term (seasonal) employees leave the company after college graduation or finding new employment. But these shares that they have put much of their hard earned money into and accumulated over years never amounts to anything for them personally. While Walmart becomes just fatter on their shares.

Many employees have died not knowing what ever happened to their shares. Want to know what happens? Walmart continues to reap the unclaimed share benefits year after year. While they may not be doing anything legally wrong by selling shares, many employees when tried to get information on their shares after termination with Walmart just get an answering machine which never returns their calls.

If they try calling their Walmart Store where they worked at, no one has any answers for them. They are given this #1-800 438 6278 stock information line. When dialed, an answering message comes on asking to give your stock account number. Once that has been entered, the reply is always the same: Please update your address. Then the line gets disconnected.

Well if you are one of the many Walmart suckers, get in line. they are heading to the courts again demanding the sale of their shares and money reimbursed. Period.

Walmart you deserve every book the judge can throw at you on this one, for taking the young, innocent, naive and yes, above all the autistic for a ride that continues on a daily basis.

Victims won't have any problem finding legal help, attorneys are ready to jump on this band wagon for free until their case is won. While Sam Walton had a vision of grace to provide for the under dog, he must be truly disturbed by the fraudulent schemes Walmart continues to whip out day after day from under it's belt! However, being a mega company today does not make them 'untouchable' anymore. Thank God for the power of the media, every evil is ousted for the public to take on whatever action is necessary to make right from wrong..

I worked for Walmart many times, and I know how they are. They are all for "Walmart" and don't care much for the employee. In the stores I worked in, employees were only hired in as part time, and worked 32-39 hours a week so that the store doesn't have to give them benefits. They also never give breaks on time. I hardly ever go my breaks on time. No matter how many times you ask for your break, they refuse or ignore you. This is one place I will never work again.

Will tweet this. Another thing you might want to write about in regard to Walmart, is that they buy life insurance for every employee. If the employee dies, they collect the insurance. Don't know if that is legal, but is certainly morally reprehensible. Keep up the good writing.

I never had this problem and I worked for Walmart numerous times. Shares were always part of the benefits package, but no employee ever had to "opt in". I can remember filling out the forms for it. If you wanted some shares, you put down a dollar amount, signed it and handed it in. If you didn't want them, you did nothing. I opted in after working for walmart for about 6 months. When I left, I called the number and cashed them out.
