Walt Disney World Advanced Dining Reservations Being Returned to 180 Days

Amanda M. Rose
Today it was released that effective October 27th, 2009, the booking window for Walt Disney World advance dining reservations (ADRs) will be extended back to 180 days, along with the hours for the Walt Disney World theme parks.

Late in 2008, Walt Disney World discontinued their 180 day policy for making advanced dining reservations and implemented a 90 day policy. Walt Disney World changed their Advanced Dining Reservation dates in hopes that they would be able to lower the percentage of people that were no-shows and to lower the amount of cancellations and switching reservations around.

Many guests that have planned trips for months or years ahead of time, were discouraged and angered by the new policy, as they no longer had the advantage of receiving reservations at the challenging restaurants. Forums were flooded with very upset loyal Disney guests that complained that "the early bird would no longer be getting the worm", and that the majority of guests at Walt Disney World planned their trips at least 90 days in advance, leaving them in the masses trying to get advanced dining reservations at Walt Disney World.

It is quite possible that the addition of the new Online Advanced Dining Reservation System that was put in place in mid June of this year has made the dining system more efficient and Disney World has taken the bad feedback of the 90 day policy to heart and has brought back the magic of the 180 day reservation's being available once again.

If you're date for traveling is January 25th, 2010 to mid-April, make sure that you are on that phone at 7:00am or online at 6:00am EST to make sure you get your dining reservations.
