The four theme parks at Disney World are the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Each theme park has one icon that it is most known for. Magic Kingdom has Cinderella's Castle at its center. Epcot houses Spaceship Earth. The Tree of Life is found at Animal Kingdom, and Mickey's Sorcerer's Hat is at Hollywood Studios. In December, all of the parks are decorated to reflect the holiday season. Disney World also has two large water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Typhoon Lagoon has the largest outdoor wave pool, and Blizzard Beach is host to Mount Gushmore. Both water parks are open in December and have heated pools. The many themed hotels at Walt Disney World are divided into three categories to meet different budgets: value, moderate and deluxe.
There are so many parks to visit and hotels to choose from that you almost need a week just to plan your vacation. This is also a good thing, because you will be able to fit in something each day that is sure to please every member of the family. You can also buy packages that will save you money on tickets. These ticket deals are cheaper in the winter months because it is the parks' off-season. Vacationers should not try to plan a trip to Disney World unless they have one to two weeks to see all of the sights. More pluses: Disney's guest services department makes sure that visitors with disabilities can get around the parks and see the attractions without having to wait in line. The parks are also extremely clean. You will be hard-pressed to find trash anywhere in the parks.
Visiting Disney World in the winter is a must. The huge Christmas tree will get you in the mood to celebrate. If that doesn't work, the candlelight chorus will. The kids will enjoy meeting Santa and his elves as much as they enjoy meeting all of the Disney characters. You will love the weather and the sunshine. Since Disney's theme parks are busiest in the summer, you will spend less time waiting in line for the attractions and the bathrooms. You will also be able to do some last-minute Christmas shopping by picking up some souvenirs for family and friends back home.
