Magic Kingdom is the park most people think of when you mention you are going to Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World actually has four major theme parks, while Magic Kingdom was the first to open.

Walking into Magic Kingdom is certainly a breathtaking experience as you are greeted by a Main Street full of excitement. As you walk down Main Street you come upon the famous massive castle. In that instant you know you have arrived at a magical place.

Magic Kingdom is split up into different areas such as Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Adventureland and more. Magic Kingdom offers glimpses into movies and stories everyone is familiar with, along with delighting families with thrills and chills.

Your favorite characters walk around the park making ideal photo opportunities for little ones. Taking the Walt Disney World railroad train, with its steam powered engine offers you the chance to see the park's perimeter while saving you a few steps of walking.

If you are looking for thrills head to Frontierland and try Splash Mountain. Going through Splash Mountain offers you the chance to see the story of Brer Rabbit. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad offers milder thrills on a fun rollercoaster.

In Tomorrowland Young video gamers will love Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin as they shoot at the bad guys with a laser gun while riding. If you are looking to see what Tomorrowland has to offer, hop on the Transit Authority and take a gentle ride through the theme park's section before choosing which rides to go on. Space Mountain is sure to get your attention as a rollercoaster that is ridden in the dark.

Mickey's PhilharMagic is a show you certainly want to add to your agenda as it will delight all ages with its special effects and wonderful music.

Tom Sawyer Island offers a place for children of all ages to climb and play. With suspended rope bridges, caves, swings and trails it will offer something for each member of your party.

The thing about Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom is there is so much to do and see that you will certainly fill an entire day or two. The "SpectroMagic" Parade could get even Grumpy to smile. Be sure to end your evening by watching "Wishes", their large firework display. Monorails or ferry boats will return you to your parking lot or on-site hotels at the end of your day.

  • Magic Kingdom houses the infamous castle you see when you walk into the park.
  • Magic Kingdom offers both mild and big thrills for all family members.
  • There are numerous photo opportunities, so be sure to bring along your camera.
Walt Disney World's famous castle stands at 189 feet. It falls just under the 200 foot limit which would force them to put a red light atop of it for airplanes.
