Want to Know Who is Responsible for This Mess We Find Ourselves In?

Scotty Starnes
Have you truly opened your eyes yet America? Have you ever taken the time to honestly put aside your political beliefs and ideologies? Have you ever thought about the individuals who are responsible for this mess we find ourselves in today?

There are 545 individuals solely responsible for this situation we currently face. I will give you a few seconds to ponder who these 545 are... Give up yet? Will here is the answer.

Take 100 senator and add 435 congressmen. Then throw in 1 President and 9 Supreme Court Justices. That gives you a total of 545 individuals who are responsible for this mess we are in today.

545 elected or appointed human beings directly affect a population of 305,529,237. These 545 are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic and foreign problems our country faces today. Don't believe me? Just clear your head of all the political bickering and let your mind be free. Be a "free-thinker."

If both of our political parties, the donkey and the elephant, are against deficits, why then do we have deficits? If they are against raising your taxes, why do they eventually always raise taxes? If they are against a war, why do they vote to allow war?

We, as U.S. citizens, do not have any powers except the power of vote. We have no control over the federal budget. The President is the one who sets that agenda.

We tell our mythical representative, who never actually represent any of us because they are too busy representing their own agendas, political aspirations and special interests groups, that we are sick and tired of the spending. What do they do? They continue to spend freely what we have earned.

The Congress and the House of Representatives are the 535 individuals who allow 1 President to quadruple the federal deficit. If they did not won't it to happen, they could have voted against it. This same group ushered in several bills that were rammed down our throats and yet they could not find the time to read the legislation.

How do you think those 535 elected officials are doing now? Are you now realizing that the ones you have voted into office are not looking out for the best interest of you or your country?

Have you ever taken the time to notice how these 535 spend their entire political life trying to convince us that what they did was not actually their fault? It is all a con job, no matter what the party affiliation is. Knowing this, year after year, we continue to vote for these lying, free-spending, tax hiking, corrupt politician.

Yes I know. Some of these 535 individuals are not classified in this way but a good majority can be. A small number of them do care about our country and what the Constitution stands for. Too bad that number is few.

The President proposes a budget. He has no power to force Congress to accept it. The House of Representative is given the authority, by the U.S. Constitution, to approve any appropriations and taxes. This is our system and they are responsible for this debt.

We have to remember these individuals in 2010 and 2012. It is time to replace these scoundrels. Each and every one of them that voted for President Obama's stimulus bill, auto and bank bailout bills, his health care bill and the cap and trade bill, deserve to be sent packing.

Why is the budget in the red? Because they want it in the red. Why is the tax code unfair? Its because they want it unfair. Why are the armed forces in Iraq? Because they want them there.

Everything they do, they should be held responsible. If your Congressman voted for driving our nation into further debt. Vote them out. If your Representative voted for the cap and trade bill, vote them out. If you believe the President and these 535 individuals are wrong for our county...VOTE THEM OUT!

Together, these 545 individuals control the lives of 305 million plus souls. They rely upon us for their jobs. We are their employers and they are our employees. I believe it is time to fire the entire group and start all over again.

We should hold these people responsible. Don't let them con you into believing that they had nothing to do with this mess we find ourselves in now. Do not believe in their cries that they did this because of "the economy", "health care" or "political reasons". These events did not prevent they from doing their job. A job that they took an oath to do.

I have been sick and tired of this political BS for a long time. I'm tired of political correctness. I call them as I see them. I promise to continue being politically incorrect.

We need a political revolution. Our two party system just is not working. I want a party that stands up for the American people instead of special interests.

I want a "free-thinking" party. A party that uses common sense and believes in the U.S. and its Constitution. A party that believes in fiscal and personal responsibility. A party that fights for every citizen regardless of skin color or the amount of money in their pocket.

I don't care how I am labeled nor do I care what our elected officials think. I'm not an extremist for feeling the way I do, though this is the time to be extreme. Take the time to think. It might just open your mind.

  • 545 individuals are responsible for the mess our country is in today.
  • We are the employer to these 545 employees and it is time to fire all of them.
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Great job Scotty. We need to weed out the dead weight, and yep, clearly there are some 'Pubs that need to be part of the weeding process. As usual, good report Brother. You are outshining me around here Scotty. That is not allowed. Didn't you read the submission guidelines? In real fine print it says, and I quote, "No op/ed Conservative CP may out-do the great Whiplash!" Learn it, live it, love it! LOL. You are the poop Scotty, and I am jealous. If I lose my place as the most hated Conservative here, i blame you and you alone! Nice, I guess . . . ;)

Time to clean house and remind them they work for US not the other way around.

I agree, though I would hate to lose Ron Paul.

Amen and well-put! Thanks also for pointing out that it is the fault of BOTH PARTIES! They only lust for more money, power, and control. The American People have had chance after chance to stand up and kick the cretins out, but as long as they care more about who can sing or who gets voted off the island, they will stay in power indefinitely. We The People need to get our priorities straight, and only then will such a political revolution occur!
