Want to Get Pregnant? Try a Procreation Vacation

Donna Kay
Many couples are longing to get pregnant with their first child but their hectic lifestyles aren't exactly exuding candlelight and romance. Planning time together just because the egg says so, doesn't conjure up romantic images either. Sometimes the stress of trying too hard to get pregnant will have the opposite effect and can cause more stress and frustration. Maybe it's time to try a different approach and take a procreation vacation. The concept is nothing new, and doctors' have been telling couples trying to get pregnant to take a vacation and try relaxing. It's really a common sense approach. It seems as we become more and more aware of just how damaging stress is to every aspect of our daily lives, getting pregnant is no exception.

The hotels are getting in on this trend and offering exotic procreation vacation packages to help couples get pregnant. They are offering everything a couple would need to make their vacation as romantic and relaxing as possible. Some resorts even have sex therapists on site, exotic food and drinks, and romantic counseling to put prospective parents in the mood to get pregnant. All of this "pampering and sex-talking and love-potions and massaging and relaxing" will come at a price! Many couples are finding that it's worth the price for that long awaited little bundle of joy. The prices seem a little extravagant to me, but if the end result is getting pregnant, maybe it's worth it!

One such luxury procreation vacation can be found on Our Lucaya Grand Bahama Island at the Westin, and their three nights of romance starts at about $1,900. This includes a Carribean fertility concoction served three times a day made from sea moss, evaporated milk, sugar and spices that are purportedly natural versions of Viagra for him. The woman is given unlimited pumpkin soup because it is rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene. This combination is believed to promote fertility. Laying on the beach, beside the pool, and getting massages are part of the plan to get pregnant. This hotel chain also offers the same package at their resorts on St. John and Puerto Rico.

If the open sea is your style, and motion-sickness wouldn't be an issue, then maybe booking a getaway on the "Love Boat" would be your procreation vacation ideal! The price for this cruising and conceiving is about $1800. The "Love Boat" will whisk you away to get pregnant on a romantic island. The luxury ship belongs to Dr. Wei Siang Yu, a Singapore sex specialist.

These romantic procreation vacations can be found stateside as well. In the Chesapeake Bay area of Maryland, just such a romantic package is found at the Five Gables Inn and Spa. Their package to help someone get pregnant is called "The Birds and the Bees." I did not invent the name and it includes two- nights with a couple's massage and lots of oysters and wine! This procreation vacation is around $810. per couple. Oh, and I almost forgot . . . it includes a romantic Barry White CD and boxer shorts with hearts!

Wyoming also has a Procreation Ski Vacation in Jackson Hole, where conception is the priority! This package starts around $950. per couple and includes champagne and chocolates on arrival. There are also a couple's massage treatment and a candlelight dinner for two served in the room on the night you choose. Besides skiing, there is snowboarding and a dogsled trip to a back country hot springs! The price includes cuddling in front of a roaring fire for a four-night stay at a Sundance Junior Suite.
