Want to Work with Electronics? Check Out These Companies Hiring for the Holidays!

Idalia Benavides
If you're considering getting a part-time, temporary, or a temp-to-hire job selling electronics then this article is going to be very helpful to you. Based on some research that I've done online, I've found that there are 5 companies whom are for sure hiring for the holidays. They don't all specialize in electronics, but you can be sure that they have an electronics section, and perhaps that is where you will be placed.

Remember that when you're applying to these companies, it's always best to have some background experience. Employers are looking for candidates with a good background in customer service, sales, and great recommendations. Make sure to submit a resume with your application, and to make a good impression during your interview. If you're interested in one of the following companies, and you know someone who works there and is in good standing with the company, perhaps you should consider asking he/she for a referral; that usually helps a lot in getting a holiday job.

- Best Buy
When you apply here, make sure to highlight your customer service skills before your sales skills. Making sales is very important at Best Buy, but the stuff usually sales itself based on all of the advertising they do. They are interested in your background and references so make sure to list them in your application/resume.

- Circuit City
Circuit City is a lot like Best Buy, they will mostly be interested in your people skills and your customer service background. If you've done some work in that field it's great, if not though, talk about your experience handling money and making sales.

- Radio Shack
Radio Shack is sure to get you hands on experience with electronics. They're looking for good sales people though, so make sure to highlight your sales experience in your resume and talk about what you've accomplished.

- Target
If you're looking to work in the electronics department, make sure to include that in your application. Most Target stores aren't hiring for a specific department though, so you may want to wait till you actually get hired to ask for a placement in that department

- Sears
When submitting your application make sure to let them know you are looking for a position in the electronics department here too. Sears has many departments and the electronics is one that isn't that hard to get into. List experience pertinent to this and you will surely get the position you want.

Note: All of the above companies are currently accepting applications online through their websites. Applying online is something you should consider if you're looking to apply quickly and easily; however remember than when you apply in person you build an impression that can be the deciding factor when they hire someone.
