Why don't I replace you....
A few days ago I woke with a pain in my back. No matter how I turned I couldn't get much relief. Finally, I mentioned to my husband that I was hurting. He first said do you want me to rub it with some lotion? I didn't think that would help, but I thanked him. I was sitting at my desk, working, when he walked back to my office. With his hand on his hip, he said, "you know, I thought when I married a younger woman I wouldn't have to worry about taking care of you."
I turned to him, "well maybe it's time to trade me in. How about if I write an add for you? See if I can get any response." I'm not sure these are the words he would use in his add.
Elderly gentleman seeking much younger woman to care for his every need. He expects her to cover him during his afternoon nap. Massage his aching muscles when he comes home from the golf course six days a week. She needs to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner and serve him as he watches whatever he chooses on TV. Make sure the remote control is always in his hand, even if he falls asleep.
I'm not sure he would approve this add, so I won't add his name to the bottom. In fact, I'm sure after he reads it, he may want to write an add of his own.
I decided to read the add to him as he was passing through the office to kiss me good-bye on his way to play golf. He said, "have a good day honey, hope you're feeling better. By the way, I finished all the laundry, folded it and put it away. Anything else you need before I go?"
Okay, cancel the add..............
