War Service Without War

Ramsey met his bosom friend Ronald and exchanged pleasantries. Later a discussion on war heroes and veterans came up in their minds. Ramsey initiates the discussion:
Ramsey: The war heroes and war veterans are not given due recognition. Rarely their role is appreciated and the tough conditions under which they work and exist are often forgotten.
Ronald: Yes, really true. I can certify this from my own experience.
Ramsey: Oh! I never knew you had war experience.
Ronald. That was short lived. I applied and was selected. I went to the Supplies Office to join but within one hour news came that the war had ended. So I got the relief order in the afternoon. But I got a certificate that I served in the war.
Ramsey: Your war experience is unique. I wish many soldiers are as lucky as you are.
