Warm - Part IV

Jonas Skovsgaard Christensen
The audience went relatively silent as Doctor Wurth looked around the auditorium questioningly. Finally Johann, who had been leaning on the railing the entire time, stood up and cleared his throat, motioning to the doctor that he had a question.

"Yes?", the doctor said, awaiting Johann's question. "Well, it seems to me that your study in these antiquated - to say the least - artifacts is - if I may say so - fairly basic for a highly educated man such as yourself. Why is that if I might ask?". The auditorium became quiet as ever at these obviously ill chosen words.

Doctor Wurth, calmly exhaling the thick smoke of his pipe, nodded at Johann, seemingly prepared for this question. "What we do in this society of academia is study artifacts, scriptures and similar ancient items and in order to completely understand the complexity of such items, one must first see the basic shape and purpose of it. While I hope this was answer enough for you, you are most welcome to visit my office here later." Johann nodded to the doctor and took a step back as if to accept that this was an argument to be settled elsewhere.

The doctor went on to address the entire audience: "If that was all, gentlemen, I will leave you to your debate and as mentioned I will be in my office, should anyone have further questions."

A man, significantly shorter than the doctor, wearing a top hat matching his vest and trousers, took the floor and announced that the debate of the day would be taking place at Aiday Manor, which I can only assume was a debate we, Johann and I, were not invited to as neither of us had the faintest idea where this estate was.
