Warming Massage Oil from Your Pantry

Make Warming Oil in a Minute

Who doesn't love a nice massage? In fact, some people enjoy giving a massage as much as getting one. Whether you're on the giving or receiving end, those massage oils sure are expensive, aren't they? A tiny bottle can be ten bucks or more - it's ridiculous. A warming-type of oil is especially costly but, oh, does it feel great! Put away your wallet; you don't have to go shopping for warming massage oil. You can just go to your pantry and find what you need to make your own - for a fraction of the cost of buying it. Don't think you'll need to gather a basket full of supplies; it takes only two things to make a terrific warming lotion to put on sore muscles or just for use as a massage oil.

Find the container you're going to use then select the oil. Cooking oil works perfectly and it doesn't matter if it's canola, corn oil, or another type. Baby oil is yet another choice you can use as the base for the massage oil. Fill the container nearly full but leave room for the warming agent.

Add hot sauce to the oil to create the amount of warmth you want. The hot sauce can be Tabasco, Louisiana Hot Sauce, or another type. A few drops will create a little warmth but only you know the size of container you're using. It can be helpful to shake the hot sauce in the oil and rub some on the underside of your wrist to test. Keep in mind that the massage itself creates friction, which can make the oil even warmer. Think of the amount of hot sauce you would put on a portion of food; the amount of warm created in your mouth is the same amount of warm you'll feel on your skin. Judge the amount of oil accordingly.

Instead of warming massage oil you can also make warming lotion. Just replace lotion with the oil, mix in the hot sauce, and you're finished. Apply the oil or lotion to sore or injured muscles, or use it just as a warming massage oil.

Whether you're making massage oil or lotion, the hot sauce leaves a distinctive smell. To create the oil or lotion with a more pleasant scent, just purchase essential oil, and put in a few drops. You'll find this inexpensive warming massage oil to be much like the expensive versions you'll no longer buy.
