So with all these cuts in households across the nation what is happening is actually a reverse outcome of what many thought they would have to work so hard to achieve. Families are spending more quality time together as a result of not being able to pay to be apart. What do I mean by this you ask? Stop a minute and think of the rush everyone is in at the start of every day. One or two get up for work maybe one, two or three get up for school and as everyone heads out the door all are headed in different directions for the week and most likely will not see the other till as soon as Wednesday or maybe not even till the weekend as an entire family and sometimes not even then.
Now with some families forced to make cut backs and some doing so to cushion any hard hit from the economy instead of the (see you later) syndrome that has plagued many families for years the tide is turning to a better time of bonding. Some cases it may be as little as both or one parents sharing a ride as they drop kids off at school while on their way to work. Other moments are having the family at the dinner table for a home cooked meal instead of everyone reporting to their regular fast food agenda. The best may be that due to cost cutting memberships such as golf or weekend spa's just as an example have been canceled to keep more money at home while instead the family may go to a park together or just stay in and order pizza and a movie what ever the result one cannot deny that families either though being forced or voluntarily are spending more time together and it is having a positive effect on everyone.
There is no doubt that the worries of money and jobs are still there. As long as a house hold is working and raising kids as well as saving for future's the worry will always be there especially during unsettled economic times as we have now. The great part of this is being able to see what one has missed while being consumed in the day to day rhetoric. You can actually talk to children and spouse's face to face over dinner or watching a show rather than a phone call in passing or stick em notes on refrigerators next to what use to be the over extended calender of everything keeping you apart. There has actually even been a significant role change in some families where spouses may be changing roles of who is financially supporting the home and who is becoming the home maker which has developed a greater respect for each others roles in the family or just the fact of sharing all roles.
The fact that yes there are many families who have suffered great economic loss and have had to restructure everything from a home to a lower paying job to layoffs is evident in almost every state in the nation. As bad as this is if one steps back and takes a look while learning to cope with less income and maybe even more stress at the end of the day you have come home to a family or individual that is glad to see you and as you set at dinner or on the couch your in a moment you haven't been at in years, a bonding moment.
