Warning signs that you need a new doctor should not be ignored. A good doctor can be hard to find. Insurance companies limit the choices that patients have, and that can make it even more difficult to find a quality doctor. It may be difficult to find a doctor with 'all' of the qualities that one expects, but patients should take heed to the warning signs indicating that you need a new doctor.

First warning sign that you need a new doctor: Rushed

If you ever feel like your doctor is rushed for time or that you are being rushed by your doctor, this is the number one warning sign that you need a new doctor. If your doctor is not even willing to take the time to deal with your issue, then why should you be helping them make money? You should feel like you are their only patient, because at the time you are, and that they have the time to find out what is going on and to help you.

Second warning sign that you need a new doctor: Disrespectful

If you ever feel like your doctor does not respect you and the questions and concerns that you may have, this is a warning sign that you need a new doctor. Sure, they are educated, but this does not mean that their education trumps your health. You should be comfortable with all treatment and plans and your doctor should respect this. Your doctor should also respect your input and make the treatment plan accordingly.

Third warning sign that you need a new doctor: Uncaring

If you ever feel like your doctor is uncaring and does not view you at a personal level and care about you as an individual and not just a patient, this is a warning sign that you need a new doctor. Knowing that your doctor knows who you are, even when your chart is not in their hand, is a very satisfying feeling that shows they truly care about you.

Fourth warning sign that you need a new doctor: Timid

If you ever feel like your doctor lacks confidence in their practice and decisions, this is a warning sign that you need a new doctor. Confidence in a doctor is needed, and there is no way to accomplish this if the doctor does not have confidence in their own decisions. Confidence is contagious, and a patient needs this.

Fifth warning sign that you need a new doctor: Inexperienced

If you ever feel like your doctor does not understand your condition and lacks experience in dealing with it, this is a sign that you need a new doctor. You can have a fantastic doctor, but maybe you need a specialist to deal with a certain condition. This is completely okay to expect, and you deserve the best treatment available.

The warning signs that you need a new doctor may vary for each person, but the concepts are probably the same. If anything about your doctor makes you feel uncomfortable or makes you doubt their decisions this may be your personal warning signs that you need a new doctor. Do not be afraid to ask questions and be sure that you have peace of mind about all decisions that are made in regards to your personal health.
