Warped Tour 2010 to Feature the All-American Rejects, Every Time I Die, Sum 41, and More

Some of the Bands on Warped that Are Worth Your Time

The summer classic that is Warped Tour moves onto it's 16th year in 2010. There are as always tons of bands already announced, and only more to come, not even counting local bands that do single shows in the battle of the bands, and who knows who else will be Kevin Layman to join up as the tour gets closer. Here are just a smattering of bands that you should check out if you're heading to the show.

The All-American Rejects: This is probably the biggest year for the All-American Rejects, in addition to another year playing the Warped Tour, they will also be playing at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and Super Bowl XLIV, plus they will be launching a new album. Needless to say, this may be the last year to see the pop-punk band play on a smallish stage. The band is always fun to watch with their catchy tunes, just this year there may be an even bigger crowd, which means more people to dance with. Song to listen for: 'Swing, Swing'

Andrew WK: This guy's music is the epitome of party. With songs like 'Party Hard', 'It's Time to Party', and 'Party til you Puke', the guy seems to have the party thing down. Andrew WK is just a fun band to watch with an enthusiastic front man, if you are wanting to have a good time and move around (and if you're going to Warped Tour, the answer better be an enthusiastic yes) you owe it to yourself to see Andrew WK, even if you haven't heard any of his music recently. The lyrics are usually repetitive and simple, you'll catch on easy enough, and all you need to do is smile and enjoy yourself. Song to listen for: NA (Just dance and enjoy every last energetic song)

Every Time I Die: Bringing hardcore to Warped Tour is Every Time I Die, a fast paced and hard metalcore band. Expect circle pits, slam dancing, breakdowns, and just lots of movement when they are on stage. Song to listen for: 'The New Black'

Reel Big Fish: It can't be a Warped Tour without some ska, it's a punishable offense. This year's big ska band is none other then Reel Big Fish. You've heard them before, you love at least one of their songs, and you owe it to yourself to watch the band and skank along, even if it's just to 'Sell Out'. The band is fantastic live and puts a lot of energy into their performance. Song to listen for: 'Sell Out'

Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band: This three piece band (guitar, washboard, and drums played) topped the blues chart with their last album, 'The Whole Fam Damnily', they obviously don't sound like a typical Warped band. But if you saw them on tour with Flogging Molly two years ago, you'd know they have the ability to bring the rock along with the country. Not only will you dance, but it may also be the first time you've danced to someone playing a washboard! Song to listen for: 'Your Cousin's on Cops'

Sum 41: Fun punk rock from the Canada. Sum 41 was great at Warped Tour in 2001 which coincidentally was both mine and their first time at the summer festival. Back then they had just started getting recognition thanks to the song 'Fat Lip', since then they have released several more albums and hit singles, every time I see them I realize how many of their songs I know the lyrics to even though I am just a casual listener of them, and also every time I realize I should give them more attention because they are great live. Song to listen for: 'Fat Lip' for nostalgic reasons.
