Warren Beatty and Annette Bening's Daughter to Undergo Sex Change Operation

The UK Daily Mail is reporting a story today that says Warren Beatty and Annette Bening's oldest daughter, Kathlyn Beatty, will be undergoing gender reassignment surgery when she turns 18.

For those of you who are not hip to the PC cultural lingo, that means, she's going to be seeking a sex change operation. Very much like the daughter of Cher, Chastity Bono did, when she transformed, in one very creepy way, from a lovely girl, to one very overweight and tortured looking guy, who now calls himself, Chaz.

Not much is being said on the story except that Warren Beatty, who clearly loves his daughter, is beside himself and is "crushed" that his daughter insists on going through with the surgery. Annette Bening is said to be very close to her daughter and very supportive. As a parent who loves their children, frankly, I don't know what else one could be, except loving and supportive, but that's the way the story is being reported as of today.

Kathlyn Beatty has been away at school and has been identifying herself as "Stephen". Apparently, according to the story, Kathlyn (Stephen) has been of the mind that she is a boy for a number of years. The Beatty's have been dealing with the issue the best they can, but their daughter has insisted that when she is of legal age, she will carry out the surgery against their wishes.

Photos of Kathlyn Beatty show her to be a very lovely and petite young woman. Very much like the extremely attractive and very feminine, Chastity Bono appeared for many years before she became Chaz. Perhaps Kathyln Beatty is gay, as Chastity Bono is and feels this is the way to reconcile her sexuality.

It seems like a pretty radical step to those of us who are the uninitiated in these matters, unless there are specific biological issues that may suggest that she really is male. However, considering the reaction of her parents, I would venture a wild guess that Kathlyn Beatty is very much genetically female who is perhaps lesbian.

It seems to me, a much easier (and cheaper) route would be to just come out as a lesbian and move on. I'm sure her parents could accept her sexuality much easier than watching their very lovely girl go through what must be a very confusing and tortuous time. Who says Hollywood celebrities have it better than the rest of us.
