Between Saturday, January 1, 2011, and Monday, January 17, 2011, residents residing in the City of Chicago can bring their holiday trees to Warren Park to have them mulched. Warren Park is located at 6601 North Western Avenue in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. In addition, after the trees are chipped and mulched, you can pick-up the mulch on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the same site. They do request, however, that before you bring in your holiday trees that you remove all lights, ornaments and tree stands.
Since the service is only open to holiday trees, they are unable to take in wreaths, garland, lights, or any other materials to be recycled. The City of Chicago's The Department of Environment is available for questions at 312-744-7606. When you call, they can also give you a list of other Chicago locations that will be offering the same service, on the same dates they will be held in Warren Park.
