Warrior PvP Builds / How to Spec a Warrior for PvP

Warriors Are All About Sweet, Sweet Violence!

Thomas Kearo
For World of Warcraft PvP, nearly all Warriors that engage in it usually pick Arsm or Fury as their builds for PvP. With the new dual spec system, you can actually have both of them if you spend the gold, which is nice but not necessary.

If you're going Arms, your main bread and butter move (talent) will be Mortal Strike. It's gonna take you 30 points and it's located near the bottom of the Arms tree. The most used build for PvP at this point in the development of the game is a mortal strike arms builds for Warrior PvP in WoW. Let's break this down step by step.

Arms Talents:

Deflection 5/5

Improved Overpower 2/2

Iron Wil 5/5

Anger Management

Deep Wounds 3/3

Impale 2/2

Two-Handed Weapon Specialization 5/5

When you start to break into the Tier that holds two handed weapon specialization, you'll have the choice to either specialize in polearms, axes, swords or mace. Each of them have different benefits and it's really up to personal preferance as to which you choose to spec with your PvP Warrior. If you're going with Arena, I'd say get maces for that extra chance to stun your opponent, but if you need higher burst DPS (for battlegrounds and open PvP) you'll want to grab swords for the extra attack.

Death Wish 1/1

Improved Intercept 2/2

Mortal Strike 1/1 - Yep, this is the bread and butter move. Generall speaking, this goes into a pretty reliable rotation between itself and Heroic Strike. The idea is to spam Mortal Strike, but when it's on it's cooldown, use Heroic Strike as many times as you can during that period (or as much as Rage allows). This is agreed upon as the maximum DPS for the rage you can get in the game currently and it's a great rotation that keeps your moves going.

Second Wind 2/2

In the Fury tree, you're going to want to pick up Cruelty for sure. That extra crit is a lifesaver when it comes to Warrior PvP. Also, in the Arms tree a lot of players are up for debate on a certain talent. Improved Hamstring is the talent of which I speak. A lot of Warriors think that because it's not a 100% guaranteed immobilization effect, thtat it's not worth trying to rely on during a fight. I say...I'm using hamstring on every one of my opponents anyway so they don't run away from me and get their friends. Why not have the chance to immobilize them? Yeah, it's not guaranteed...but when it procs it's awesome. Immoblization rules when you've got to be in melee distance to do any damage as a pvp warrior.
