For centuries religions have stated their holy books and Bibles were the only true words of God. I have studied very few Bibles and holy books. But what I have studied of the Bible's past was not inspiring nor reassuring.
I studied of many monks labeled M and Q and others who interpreted the christian Bible from many older languages like Old Greek, Old Latin, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and other languages some of which no one today understands. These monks rewrote and reinterpreted the books of the Bible many times as their messages needed changing through the centuries. And today as in the past the Catholic Church decides what books of the Bible to include or exclude from it.
The Bible is like a modern day story past around at a party that gets changed around so much that it is totally unrecognizable from the original story told. Now imagine a thousand stories told and retold over many centuries and handed down and retold in many new languages. The message of the original story gets lost very quickly in time. Even today if you will read books of English which are only 100 years old it is very hard to understand them. The stories are told in unusual ways with weird language phrases which few people understands today.
I doubt that God would speak to mankind in riddles and vague stories past down over centuries in holy books called Bibles. God does not need such a foolish means of speaking to mankind. God does not speak from centuries past in holy books and Bibles. He speaks today as always directly to the hearts of men within. All great past teachers of all religions speak of the kingdom within to contact God but few men hear them today because they see only their centuries old holy books as the word of God.
How can men be so foolish as to kill other men because they believe in their holy books as the word of God. This is the greatest blasphemy of all time the killing of men in the name of God. God does not seek an army of assassins and murders to do his bidding. He can do what he wills with the soft touch of death in an instant or an hour with no help from men.
The only word of God spoken to man is within him in daily contemplation and meditation. All else is the centuries old writings of monks and scribes who do their best to speak for God in their writings but failed. For God does not speak through the centuries of time through monks and scribes he speak to us daily if we would only hear him.
So read the holy books of old with great care. For if they counsel the killing or harming of your brothers then they do great harm and they are the words of men not God. God has no need of books and writings he is ever present and within. He has never left you.

Post a CommentHi Robert, I am not an expert on the Bibles that is true. I am only a lifelong expert of contemplation and meditation practices. But the main point I wish to make is that God does not need to speak to men in ancient texts which are difficult to understand and which many men disagree on their interpretations. He can simply speak to our own hearts daily now as always if only men would go within and listen. The Kingdom of Heaven in within not without you.
I have little desire to study ancient writings to know God. I have learned another path of spiritual understand. But I respect your quest to know God and Truth. May you be successful in this.-- J.E. Ante
If you are really interested in the truth you should read F. F. Bruce, The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable. Stay away from the Higher critics, they have been debunked long ago. You might want to look at St. Augustine on the concept of a just war.
You don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. The Bible was NOT rewritten by monks, etc. And don't give me that baloney about how you have studied all this in depth and by implication that I haven't. I have doctorates in Theology, Philosophy and Literature. The "higher critics" you must be referring to are proven frauds. The Pentateuch was not cobbled together from four non-existent manuscripts by people as dishonest as you and your "Scholars".
Hi Robert, My opinions and the opinions of many bible scholars are not lies but rather opinions based on considerable study and reflection. But few people will every change their minds nor will they have the time to study such things in depth. So in the abscence of a known truth most people have only faith. And that is fine as long as your actions do not bully or harm others with your beliefs. If your beliefs lead you to harm others in anyway then you may need to re-evaluate your belief system and change it.-- J.E. Ante
Sorry about the typo: massive and I did mean MASSIVE! The writings of the church fathers in such collections as The Ante-Nicene Fathers prove that the N.T. was not rewritten. In the first century, the second century and the third century, they keep quoting the N.T. the same way. Please stop lying, it discredits you!
There is massage evidence That the Bible we have today is faithful to the original! Monks DID NOT WRITE AND REWRITE THE BIBLE! You have no idea what you are talking about!
