Was Bristol Palin on 'Dancing with the Stars' Forced to Dance by Her Mother?

Will Margaret Cho Find a "Decapitated Moose Head" in Her Bed Soon?

Bristol Palin on "Dancing with the Stars" was forced to perform by her mother Sarah Palin, alleged by 2010 "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Margaret Cho on her official blog. Cho, who says she got along just fine with Bristol Palin and who defends Bristol from people who called Bristol fat, says, "Why did Bristol do 'Dancing with the Stars'? I heard from someone who really should know (really should seriously know the dirt really really) that the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it."

If Cho is correct, Sarah Palin's plan didn't work

If Sarah Palin was ever handicapped, should Sarah blame her daughter for that?

Margaret Cho claims Sarah Palin blames Bristol "harshly and openly" for her losing the election and that "she told Bristol she 'owed' it to her to do DWTS so that 'America would fall in love with her again' and make it possible for Sarah Palin to run in 2012 with America behind her all the way. Instead of being supposedly 'handicapped' by the presence of her teen mom daughter, now Bristol is going to be an 'asset' - a celebrity beloved for her dancing."

Bristol Palin on "Dancing with the Stars" advanced to the finals despite the fact that she was not one of the better dancers. People accused "Dancing with the Stars" of being clogged with Tea Party and Sarah Palin supporters, pushing Bristol along for the wrong reasons. It got so bad that Bristol received death threats as the possibility of her winning the mirror ball trophy grew closer. Many believe it would have been a disaster if Bristol had won the competition.

But if what Margaret Cho says is correct, Sarah's plan backfired. Bristol's advancements angered many DWTS viewers and she lost the competition. Sarah's fans are her fans, but did she pick up any new ones out of the entire ordeal?

If Margaret Cho is correct, was DWTS in on it?

Says Margaret Cho, "I am sure the show wasn't in on this (but who knows anything really)."

Putting Bristol Palin on "Dancing with the Stars" was great for ratings. And as the competition took on a fierce nature, and more and more people got upset, Bristol dominated the headlines, which in turn meant that even those who never saw a "Dancing with the Stars" show knew what was happening.

If Margaret Cho is correct, nobody knows if DWTS was in on Sarah's plan, but anyone with half a brain can see that the show knew what it was doing when they put Bristol on. In the future, they may want to avoid the mess that the 2010 "Dancing with the Stars" turned into, but they got what they wanted.

First of all, Bristol Palin is not a "star." So right there DWTS was wrong for having her on. Second, from what I saw, she sucked. I don't know if she was forced to go on by her mother, but I do know that Sarah Palin supporters padded the ballot box for Bristol, there's no other ways she lasted so long. Too bad for Bristol, she's probably a nice person who got caught up in a political firestorm.

I'm just glad Bristol lost, because she certainly did not deserve to win.

I don't know what to believe anymore!

I was wondering that as well. Great article.

Yep, Tamara. She did a book signing on Bristol's final night.

If this is true--I wonder if she got jealous of her own plan? Didn't she do book signings the final night of the show? Supportive mom, there.

This kind of thing from Sarah doesn't surprise me at all! She has no one to blame for losing the election but herself and well informed voters.
