Spotting of Haleigh Cummings

Charisse Van Horn
This weekend, Florida law enforcement traveled to Massachusetts to speak to Misty Croslin's brother, Timothy Croslin, and his wife, Chelsea Croslin, regarding the disappearance of 6 year old Haleigh Cummings. Haleigh disappeared from her home in the early morning hours of February 10, 2009. She is the subject of a state and nationwide Amber Alert. Within the past weekend, it is possible that Haleigh Cummings was sighted at a Wal-Mart located in Abington, Massachusetts.

According to reports, anonymous phone tips were made to various media outlets in and around Cape Cod and Boston stating that a girl matching Haleigh Cummings' description was spotted at a Wal-Mart in Abington, Massachusetts. This sighting comes in addition to Florida law authorities traveling to Massachusetts to question Misty Croslin's brother. Source say the questioning lasted many hours and that Chelsea Croslin was questioned for nearly 14 hours. Authorities are reviewing surveillance tapes for further information. The nature of the interviews conducted and questions asked of Timothy and Chelsea Croslin remain to be seen, detectives aren't currently releasing that information.

A report by T.J. Hart of WSKY 97.3 FM states that a caller reported seeing a young girl in a shopping cart being pushed by an adult. It hasn't been released yet whether the adult was a male or female. Currently, the incident rests upon surveillance video tapes and whether or not Haleigh Cummings will appear on those tapes. It's important to note that Timothy Croslin, Misty Croslin's brother was in Satsuma, Florida at the time of Haleigh's disappearance. He and his wife also live in proximity of the Abington, Massachusetts Wal-Mart where the sighting took place.

It has also been reported that around the time Haleigh went missing many phone calls were made between Misty Croslin and her brother Timmy. Reports also show that Misty Croslin called her brother before the 911 phone call was placed by Ronald Cummings. Now, an important question is why Misty Croslin would call her brother before calling 911. In fact, Misty Croslin never called 911, it was only when Ronald Cummings' returned from work and discovered that Haleigh was gone that 911 was called.

Ronald Cummings attorney, Terry Shoemaker, stated that since Ron Cummings heard the news of the possible sighting of Haleigh, he has been overjoyed and filled with hope.

A nationwide Amber Alert has been issued for Haleigh Cummings. An additional $35,000 in reward money has been posted.
