Was Jersey Shore Stalker Danielle Really Stalking Pauly D?

In last season's Jersey Shore, Pauly D, aka DJ Pauly, aka Paul Delvecchio, aka The Situation's Sidekick, was stalked by a Jewish chick. Danielle seemed to be pretty obsessed with Pauly. At one point, she followed him one night while he was hanging out with Vinny and three other girls. At first it seemed like she just bumped into him on the boardwalk, but she popped up two more times that night and, at one point, tossed him a t-shirt she created that said "I heart Jewish chicks" and had an Italian flag. As Pauly would say, "That chick is mad crazy!"

It didn't end that night, though. Crazy Jewish chick Danielle proceeded to call the Jersey Shore house repeatedly, and Pauly refused to answer, finally taking the phone off the hook until the next morning to get away from her. The next morning The Situation picked the phone up, gave it to Pauly, and the whole house watched as Pauly listened to Danielle's rant, and then told her he was freaked out by her stalker behavior. At the Jersey Shore reunion show, Pauly even said she showed up at one of his DJ spots after the show was over!

Could it be that Crazy Jewish Chick Danielle really wasn't a stalker?

Anyone who has ever watched reality shows on MTV knows that some creative editing often takes place. Could it be that Danielle really wasn't a stalker, but was portrayed that way in order to create some drama for an episode?

We saw Pauly D hitting on Danielle incessantly, trying to get her into bed. Danielle wouldn't give in. She was looking for marriage. Pauly was, well, not. Not enough tension there for an entire show. It turns out that Pauly and Danielle actually had been going out for a few weeks, and were getting fairly serious. Danielle's mother, Miriam, even claimed to have met and been charmed by Pauly. As for the "I heart Jewish chicks" t-shirt, apparently Pauly had given Danielle an "I heart Italian guys" bracelet the day before. That puts it into a little more context.

MTV has to create drama to make the show work. Crazy Jewish chick Danielle certainly made it easy for them, but perhaps she's not quite as crazy as she was made out to be. Word is that we may be able to judge for ourselves in Season 3, which brings the crew back to the Jersey Shore from Miami. The rumor is that Danielle will make another appearance. What will Pauly do?
