During last night's episode of "The X Factor," contestant Misha B was accused of being a bully by judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh. While Tulisa phrased her opinion carefully, Louis was quick to announce that one of his acts had complained to him about Misha. This morning, there has been a massive uproar from the public about whether or not it was okay for Contostavlos to publicly name someone as a bully. Misha's fans believe it was merely a tactic, while others say Tulisa was right for saying the things she said.
When Tulisa made her comments on live television last night, many felt she crossed a line. Both Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland said that the judges are there to comment on the acts' performances, not their backstage antics. It felt very unfair to Misha B that she was attacked in front of millions of viewers, but didn't get a chance to speak up for herself. Had she been given a chance to say something, perhaps she would have been able to clear up Tulisa's concerns. It would have been far better to address these things away from the eyes of the viewers, instead of "outing" a young girl as a bully with so many people watching.
Only the people behind the scenes at "The X Factor" know the real story about whether or not Misha B is getting too big for her boots. However, recently a report came out that Misha's mentor Kelly Rowland had to reprimand her for acting like a diva. There is a vast difference between being confident and bullying, but if Misha was being disrespectful to "The X Factor" staff, it isn't a huge leap to believe that she could have done the same with her fellow contestants.
Those who think Tulisa was applying tactics to get Misha ousted from the show might want to look at last year's contestants. Cher Lloyd's bullying was widely reported. Stories popped up about her bullying others when she was at school, and that she had upset people within "The X Factor" house. It may have cast a shadow over her character, but it hasn't particularly harmed her career, even though she didn't win the show. People could still see her talent, in spite of what was written about her, so what would Tulisa gain by saying things that aren't true?
It is never okay to publicly shame someone without everyone seeing both sides of the story. Professionally speaking, it would have been better for the judges to speak to Misha B outside of the show. However, Tulisa prides herself on speaking the truth, and just as Misha shouldn't be hated for the comments of the judges, Tulisa shouldn't face too much hassle for saying what was on her mind.

Post a CommentMisha does look as though she has an attitude, we public have the right to know she is a bully as we are the ones that vote, and who wants to vote for a bully.
Tulisa and Louise were right to bring it up on the show.
I haven't seen this show yet, but thanks for the report
Wow...she shouldn't have the 'diva attitude' yet. The attention must be getting to her:)
